In summary

Reese Golf Course receives mixed reviews, with some visitors appreciating the friendly staff and ongoing improvements to the course. However, many criticize the course conditions, citing issues such as dirt and rock-filled fairways, unplayable greens, and confusing layouts. Additionally, there are concerns about high fees relative to the course quality and slow pace of play.

I don’t golf but I accompanied my husband who does. This was several months ago. Apparently the main food / bar area was under renovation so it was relocated - they made my drink decently (not too skimpy if ya get it) and the hotdogs were nice to have right away on what turned out to be a very cold and windy day. As of last week, they were hit by a tornado so the course has a very unique landscape at the moment. Worth it for the uniqueness, affordability, and they could probably use the support as they recover.

I wish I could give this course zero stars, but I guess they get one. This is by far the worst course in Lubbock and any where else for that matter. If you love hiking, off-roading, riding dirt bikes, then this is the place for you. But if you want to golf then do not play here. There are so many problems with this course starting with the fact that it is 90% dirt and rocks with the 10% coming from the greens with dirt patches in them. With no one enforcing pace of play, groups spend 30 mins a hole looking for balls because every rock on the course looks like a ball. Hole 9. Oh this hole is em…

Greens were in good to great shape. Tee boxes, some you needed a jackhammer to get a tee in the ground. Fairways some good, most were bad.

I come out to golf here 3/4 times a year when the other courses are jam packed. The most recent time was an awful experience, they charged a cart fee for someone who doesn’t even play just to sit in the cart. The course looks absolutely horrendous. From the fairways, to the greens…. The whole course looks like a west texas tornado ran through here and destroyed it. And I still got charged 55 bucks to play because I had someone else in my cart. The price for the crappy course is absolutely ridiculous. And I have no idea how they stay open. They put all there money into a new bar, and the course…

This place is absolutely ATROCIOUS. The course conditions are terrible, it looks like it hasn’t been watered or maintained in months. Fairways are just dirt and rocks, completely unplayable and unenjoyable. It feels impossible to find the next hole with how unorganized and unkept the course is. The pro shop sucks, the staff is rude, and the pace of play is terrible. Random groups would somehow end up in front of us and back the course even worse. The terrible price makes the experience even worse. They should be paying golfers to play at this dump. Never golf here, please.

One of the best atmospheres in Lubbock! With water restrictions from the government to clean the contaminated water, the course is looking pretty good! New 9 green is coming in awesome can’t wait to play it this summer while it’s closed the 5 gallon bucket will do! Best bar staff in town friendly and always willing to help! Some call it a dump I call it home! P.S it’s called a rain check not a wind check…might look at the weather next time.

Reese Golf Course has gone under a lot of changes in the last year . Changes are visible. It’s unfortunate the government has required drilling of water wells on the property to clean up underground contamination but even with that you can see improved changes happening. The course is coming along and getting greener by the day. The grounds staff is visibly out daily working on improving the course. If you want a fun time this is the place to come

Terrible is the only word that comes to mind. Play was so slow it took use 3 hours to get through 9. We would sit in lines of 3 groups on some tee boxes. The fairways are just rock and dirt. Don’t even try to chip the ground is so hard around the greens. Greens on the back were better than the front but still terrible. Would love to see someone come in and give this course the care it needs.

This golf course was genuinely the worst one I have been to in Lubbock, walked in and paid 91 dollars for some cheap balls and a round of golf which typically is not bad until you realize that the course is 80% dirt and 20% grass so when you hit a ball almost everything looks like a ball because it’s just rocks and dirt and don’t get me started on the maze of ropes and stakes that you’ll get trapped in on the fairways as well as hole 9 which doesn’t have a green so it has a hole in the ground the size of a 5 gallon bucket with a total distance of about 3 inches from the Tee box. Could be a dec…

Course is poorly managed. The main issue was that the Marshall was absolutely horrible!!!!Accusing people in our group of golfing , and they’ve never swung a club before in their life. Next telling us to hurry up , when the group behind us is teeing off and placing their balls in front of us. We even skipped an entire hole, and still got told to hurry. We paid for 18holes and eventually left after 11 because we were fed up with how bad this course was. Don’t not recommend and will definitely not be coming back.
