What People Say

In summary

Prairie Trails Golf & Country Club is appreciated for its friendly staff, accommodating service, and enjoyable layout, with some visitors highlighting its charm as a small-town course. However, there are notable concerns about the course's maintenance, with reports of rough greens, bare spots, and inconsistent tee box conditions. Additionally, some guests have encountered issues with staff demeanor and pricing relative to course quality.

Nice course. Can't give it a full honest grade as it is still early in the season and the course is not quite to its full potential. I'm sure once the greens are green, the fairways aren't freshly airrated and the brown spots are back to the lush course desirability it will be a great course to play!

In terms of staff, by far the most hostile golf course I have ever played. Especially for a course where the tee box grass is often reminiscent of mid length rough. Staff seems determined to squash any good times and often berates their players at loud volumes for 10-15 minutes at a time. Was literally in shock at how rude they were. Also, way overpriced for the conditions of the course. Not sure what the target audience of this course is. It’s not nearly nice enough for serious golfers and way too snobbish for casual golfers.

Normally a fun course to play. Only this the greens were rough to say the least. I hope they can get it healthy again by spring.

Probably the worst golf course I’ve ever been too. the fairways are terrible, the greens have huge dead spots everywhere. The staff are outrageously rude and have zero consideration for beginner golfers.. I wouldn’t recommend this course if it was the only one in Kansas and I mean that!

Not a bad course, a good place to bring a beginning golfer. New owner as of last year. They have added a small restaurant in the clubhouse. Hopefully, the course gets better. Front 9 greens were redone a few years back and already look horrible. A few have bare spots with just dirt. The Tee boxes are the biggest reason I rated it 3 Stars. Some of the tees get cut more than others and some days you have either an uphill or downhill lie on the tee box. The fairways are more than wide enough even for the higher handicap player, the staff has done a great job on mowing the knee-high native grass d…

First time I went golfing was with my friends for a birthday one of them had and we had a great time. I came back again with my hickory wood shafted clubs and outfit and played for my second time and had a lot of fun. Then i played all 18 and saw just how beautiful Prairie Trails was. The staff is very kindly and professional. I now averagely play there with my old timey outfits and clubs ad much as I can.

Extremely disappointed the way the boys were treated while trying to golf over their spring break. Members of the Circle golf team, tried to take advantage of one of the nicest days of spring break so far and get in a little golf. When these kids went to check in, they were told in a very sarcastic way “Golf Team.. ha! There is no golf team. School is canceled! Haven’t you heard?” Wow! Have some compassion! School was canceled by the governor an hour before. These kids are still apart of that team. Way to point out the negative and turn these students away. A little kindness goes a long way. Y…

One of the worst golf experiences we have ever had. The course is not well maintained and fairway grass was very sparse. Not worth the $42.50 they charged each of us. Won't go back. Very sad.

Nice golf course, somewhat challenging, but not real long. They just redid the greens the season before and were in great shape.
