In summary

Nevel Meade Golf Club is highly praised for its well-maintained course, featuring a links-style layout with wide fairways, challenging greens, and exceptional bunkers. The staff, particularly head pro Robert Costello, is noted for their friendliness and helpfulness, enhancing the overall experience. While the course offers a great variety of holes and a solid practice facility, some visitors have experienced slow pace of play and limited food and beverage options.

Great course in great condition with friendly clubhouse staff. Course is pretty open, tall grass you need to avoid but wide fairways and not many trees. Greens are on the smaller side with a lot of subtle breaks. Good variety of holes with some short par 4/5s, short and longer par 3s, and then standard par 4/5s. Bunkers are incredible, crisp white sand like a resort course.

July 2025, what a solid track, with all the rain all spring and into summer this year the course was overall in really good shape, greens were a tad slow but rolled true and absolutely in great shape!!! Played the tips this round and it's all you want lol Recent June 2022 visit, fairways and greens were in great shape, really solid course with a great layout... No alcohol sales so BYOB, also no real food besides snacks, hot dogs and tiny cold cuts lol Great layout, the bunkers were phenomenal!!! Especially for November... The rest of the course was in good shape, greens weren't too fast but…

*This place is an absolute gem of a golf course. Framed as a links course, it's a place offering quite a few blind shots off the tee and sometimes from the fairways. I'd recommend playing with someone who knows the course. But if you can remember a conversation, the head pro, Robert Costello will engage you in a simply wonderful conversation and give you the tiny bits you need to take advantage on certain holes. I'm a 9-handicap. I was quick to discover that adding a club and dialing down my swing out me in the best spots. You don't want to be left or right on several holes. At my club, hit th…

In early Spring 2021, I signed my son up to start playing golf in the Junior PGA league run by the head pro, Robert Costello. I also started having him take lessons from Coach Robert as well. I cannot say enough good things about both Coach Robert and the course itself. He is the best kids golf coach I've ever met. I actually took a lesson from him and now my wife is getting ready to start taking lessons from him. The course is extremely well maintained. It has good holes with minimal blind shots, which I like. The greens are nice and the practice area is large. If you're looking for an activi…

Quirky back 9 - otherwise great layout and fun golf course. Top notch for public course in Louisville. Excellent practice facility.

Beautiful course, well run and in great shape. The greens are fast, and if you hit it in the heather good lick finding it. There's a bit of local knowledge required to play the layout, so don't be shy asking for help. The cart had yardage that was relatively accurate, as with the wind an elevation changes some creative interpretation is required. The range is ok, unfortunately it seems to be right into the prevailing wind which makes it tough to tell how you are hitting it. The short game area is nice, and the practice putting green is exceptional. I'll be back!

Course is in great condition from tee to green. I was fortunate to play with regulars who helped me navigate the blind tee shots and targeted landing areas, and there are more than a few tricky holes, but overall a solid experience and well worth the $$ for an enjoyable round of golf.

Beautiful course. One of the best public courses around. Pace of play is usually pretty good and it seems like it’s never too busy. Course has been in great shape every time I’ve played.

I normally have an excellent experience at this course. The head golf pro, Robert, is a class act. Last week, I was stunned by the absolute unprofessionalism exhibited by one of the staff members, DJ. He was extremely condescending and made a comment to me that I won’t repeat here. Certainly one that shouldn’t be made to a female golfer who is a regular at the course.

Played on my last day in Louisville. Wish I knew about this course sooner. Everything was perfect including the weather. So much better than cheaper public courses I played in Louisville for just twenty dollars more. Highly highly recommended.
