In summary

Maxwell Municipal Golf Club receives praise for its friendly staff, accommodating atmosphere, and affordability, making it a popular choice for beginners and budget-conscious golfers. The course is noted for its casual setting and decent practice facilities, with some positive experiences regarding the condition of the greens. However, recurring criticisms include inconsistent course maintenance, outdated facilities, and issues with customer service, which some feel detract from the overall experience.

The best golf course we have ever been to! They accommodated my husband as well as myself and 4 month old baby. Hands down the kindest people and a beautiful course.

This course has so much potential. Unfortunately though it seems like the close you r to the clubhouse the better it is and vice versa. Not sure what’s going on with that but I can imagine. The holes r not clearly marked, lacking in cart paths, tee boxes need updated, and the pin locations don’t seem to have changed in months. The grass is growing over the cup. Seems like someone needs to retire and needs new management. It’s such a good 18 hole course if it had the right people to take care of it. The flags r even wore out in the cups. The price is fitting for the course but would live to see…

Your below-average muni. Some pretty rough spots on the course. Every hole feels the same. Narrow fairways, small turtle back greens. Greens were pretty rough and bouncy. Course looks great from the road driving in…let me say looks can be deceiving. $14 for large bucket on the range…seems kinda ridiculous. Clubhouse…what clubhouse? No food, no cart girl. The cart staging area, where you check in, where you make the turn, and where you finish your round is at the same spot and is extremely smaller cramped and organized poorly. Will not play again if it was free. I think the green fee was like…

I love "the muni". I played there a bunch when I was just learning this game. Three stars because the most recent visit was disappointing to say the least. Un mowed and the greens were embarrassing. It's truly sad to see this course fall so far down from what it once was and the potential for what it could be again with proper maintenance. This was just a short visit for me. I'm sure I will be back to A town again and I always carry my sticks with me so I'll probably play "the muni" again. Hopefully they'll get it together and make the course playable once again!

Nice looking 18 hole course. Talked to some very friendly folks. So far so good, all I need to do is drive'em down the fairways.

Excellent local course. Conditions are touch and go based on the rain. But overall a good value for the beginner or golfer on a budget. Tuesday night scramble is fun and a bucket of range balls are included with entry fee.

Staff was very friendly! Average prices. I played 18 holes and the speed of play was awesome, took about three hours to play. The course was a little difficult to navigate at times. Greens were perfect! On some hours the fairway was a little rough. Overall great experience and I plan on returning!

We were there about a month ago. The staff was great, the course was in very good shape, we had a great time. I left my range finder in the cart when we left & l didn't realize it until 4 days later. I called them & someone had turned it in ( l would like to give a thank you to that honest person ). They put it in the mail & l received it a few days later. We will defiantly be back! Great experience.

Good driving range and practice putting green; we're looking forward to playing the course when weather cools off. Met Stacey in pro shop; she provided us with a golf cart to get out to driving range since only a few folks were out on course due to high temperatures today. Thank you! Also received breakout on the cost to join as a member at Maxwell golf course.

Greens were really sandy and some were just shake-your-head, cross-your-fingers treacherous. Fairways are really open and forgiving but in rough shape. West Texas open & hard as a rock. We really expected a little better for $41.50. The day was windy and hot and we enjoyed chasing the white ball around together, and it wasn't busy (because of the wind, I presume), but the condition of the course could be better. Expect to hit off of hardpan everywhere or move your ball to some grass. Maybe the greens will grow in better the next few weeks, making the experience better. :/

Pretty good course. Prices are fair. The grounds are kept pretty decent. I would recommend this course to anyone. The only reason I give it 3 stars is the fact that the holes are VERY close to each other and presents a hazard. The tee box of one hole is next to the flag of another. You really have to keep your eyes open because a ball could be flying towards you at anytime.

I used to have fun going to play, that is until i met "Stacy"! she was very rude the past 2 times i went there. She is or was a coach at cooper high school and needs to understand the fine line between how to treat one of her students and a paying customer. I have spent thousands of dollars of my hard working money there and now there will be no more thanks to "Stacy" . Scott and the rest of the staff (besides Stacy) has always been wonderful to accommodate my needs. I hope they fix the issue of poor customer service on the employee that lacks in that area. I am hoping to get feed back from on…
