In summary

Lakewood Golf Club is appreciated for its fun and challenging layout, well-maintained greens, and friendly staff, making it a popular choice for both locals and visitors in New Orleans. The course offers a wide-open design with various water hazards, providing a good test for golfers of different skill levels. However, some visitors have noted issues with maintenance, particularly concerning fairways and tee boxes, and have expressed concerns about pricing, feeling that the cost does not always match the quality of the experience.

Course needs some work and the prices need to come down. Played alot better courses with higher difficulty at lower prices.

I played this course on November 9th, 2023. Before leaving NOLA this was one of my favorite courses. I am not too sure what has happened since. The fairways are try and really patchy. The tee boxes need a lot of work, a lot of them was just sand with broken tee's all over the place. The greens I will say are still fast and pretty well kept although they looked much better before I moved in 2021. As for the practice range there is also no much grass to hit on. The putting and chipping greens are still in pretty good shape. The course has drinking water throughout and a nice snack shop in betwee…

Fun course! PAY ATTENTION WHEN APPROACHING THE WATER HAZARDS! ALLIGATORS HAVE POWERFUL JAWS! It's definitely a course you should play if you are in NOLA!

What a fun course!! Makes you feel like Tiger woods when you drive every other par 4. Had a blast with the friends and the rental set wasn't garbage either!!

Nice course, open layout. Greens are coming along nicely and the fairways are good. Rough gets pretty thick around the course and the sand traps are mediocre, some are poor. Overall, better than the other courses around the area in the $50-$70 range.

I grew up playing Lakewood as a kid. I’ve had some epic rounds out there. 20 years later, it’s turned into a dump. I paid for me and my two friends to play earlier this week and we quit after nine holes because the course is in such bad shape. Not a single trap raked. The tee boxes were like hitting out of the rough and the greens were comparable to City Park North Course. I wish I had 4 hands so I could give this course 4 thumbs down. Avoid this place like the plague if you’re a serious golfer. It will just piss you off how terrible it is now.

Employees were great. Very helpful in trying to make my round a good experience. Grass in fairways dormant, but still very nice. Good layout without any silly surprises of bunkering and water on holes. Fast green with the correct amount of undulations to make putting a challenge. I would recommend you try this course out. You won't be disappointed.

Very nice course and best we have played in NOLA. The greens are very well maintained unlike many of the courses in the area. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. The only complaint I have is they don't offer any pull carts for rent. I hope they consider buying some soon as we like to walk.

Decent layout, nice staff, large practice area but not kept up very well. The course is not set up for amateurs, greens always very fast and the rough is far too dense and tall for a public golf course. Wide open though

Definitely not a $100 a round golf course. Trash littered throughout the course, unkept greens. Huge piles of lawn clippings in the middle of the fairway. The clubhouse staff in the morning were unpleasant and rude. Was quoted a price prior to arrival and that apparently changed when my group and I got there. Overall disappointed

It's nice enough. The course is nicely laid out with nice greens. The clubhouse is nice but nothing special. If I lived closer, I might golf here more often.

I always try to get a round at this course at every opportunity. Fun design, and challenging. Very relaxing feel to the layout, but complacency will definitely add at least one stroke to the hole. Staff is friendly, and helpful. Not too far from downtown New Orleans.
