In summary

Audubon Park Golf Course is frequently praised for its picturesque setting, friendly staff, and well-maintained fairways and tee boxes, making it a popular choice for those looking to enjoy a shorter, par 62 course. Many appreciate the course's challenging layout, particularly the numerous par 3 holes, and the overall pleasant atmosphere. However, some visitors have expressed concerns about the condition of the greens and the slow pace of play, particularly due to the lack of a marshal to manage course flow.

Flew in for the day from Houston to play here on 8/25.. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The starter let me jump in front of the two foursomes since i was a single. The course looked like it had just been freshly cut. The tee boxes and fairways were very plush. The greens looked nice but were a little slow. It took me a few holes to get the speed down. It is a par 62 course with a lot of par 3's. Overall, i really had an enjoyable round and would play here again.

I was going to give this course a good rating but not after playing here from hole 14 on. Allow me to explain. After making the turn from 13 to 14, we had a group of four cut in front of a two-some that was in front of us all day. They made the turn from 17 and wanted to play some additional holes so they did so by cutting in front of us. This allowed them to play 14, 15,, 16, & 17 again. Then another group cut in front of the same two-some again on hole 17 only this time it was 8 drunk clowns. Then on 18 a walker decided to cut his round short and cut in front of our three-some. I objected…

I love this course! Played it on a rainy day and the drainage I felt was impressive. Tee boxes and greens were dry, greens rolled excellently, fairways were wet in some spots but considering the rain, I was pleasantly surprised. The staff was awesome, and the site is spectacular. Just a pretty part of the world and to be fortunate enough to walk it was a blessing. It's got some challenging holes, lots of bunkers protecting the greens, and the longer holes were very challenging. The 18th par 5 was my favorite hole. Would love to go back on a nicer day.

The course is undergoing renovations and most of the holes have temporary tees, but it’s otherwise a beautiful short course and very picturesque. Bring balls as the grass surrounding the fairways and greens is deceptively thick and you can easily lose balls that you saw land safely. While the course layout and length is perfect for walkers, you may want to think twice. I went out at 7AM in June and was drenched by the fourth hole. So save the walking for cooler months.

I have golfed here many many many times over the years. I really like the layout and length as I'm not a long hitter. The problem I have and the reason I'm leaving this review is the condition of the course. The bunkers are in Desperate need sand and have been for the last couple of years. It's not safe to hit out of the majority of them. The greens have been getting worse and worse and today Feb 10th 2026 they were horrendous. Probably the worst I've played on in my 30 years of golfing in multiple states. The fairways and tee boxes are also in very poor condition. At $50+ for a round I expect…

Seriously impressed with this course. I love shorter course and the condition was incredible. Tucked away in the city park it was clean and beautiful. Easily a top 5 course for me

Fantastic venue to play. The course holds shots for all golf levels of play, so do not assume that the short yardage means you will not be tested; you gotta hit the greens in the right place:). For the time of year, the course drained well and the greens were in good shape. Rainy and windy early this morning, but it was still a blast. Definitely worth a play when you are in anew Orleans.

This course has the worst greens I’ve ever played on and it’s in terrible condition. In the past this was a very nice! They need to hire a new greens crew before they lose the course completely. I would not play this course in its current condition. I’ve attached photos for my last visit. The greens are mostly mud and sand.

Thanksgiving Day 27 November 2025. Audubon Park was beautiful under a cloudless blue sky, 61° and sunny.

Fun par 62. Par 3's are the hardest holes in golf. Here there are 12 of them for your golfing pleasure. 😀 The greens were a little slow but rolled true. The fairways and tee boxes were all good. Pleasant staff. Try it you'll like it.

Does the city really need 3 golf courses? Both of which taking up half of our 2 major parks that SHOULD be fully accessible to New Orleans residents and not just the rich and tourists. Put them in Metairie and stop messing with the working class people’s public spaces.
