In summary

Joseph M. Bartholomew Golf Club is appreciated for its affordability, friendly staff, and historical charm, making it a popular choice for visitors. Many find the course layout enjoyable, though the condition of the greens is frequently criticized, with some being relocated to fairways due to maintenance issues. While the clubhouse and restaurant receive positive feedback, there are concerns about inconsistent operating hours and some staff interactions, particularly with the starters.

Fun Course! We were in town for a convention and had Wednesday free so we booked a tree time. I had no idea they had a special that day for 18 holes and a cart for $32. Can’t beat that!

The weather was perfect and the pace of play was great. I was a solo and was able to play 18 in about 2-2.5 hours . The course plays pretty long with tons of water hazards. Tee boxes and fairways were decent. The greens were terrible. Some of the greens are getting restored so they put the pin/hole in the actually fairway. Putting was not fun. I somehow did shoot my best round of the year though lol. The best part was $32 for 18 and a cart. Hard to beat. They also accept Cash and Cards as well.

Here from Chicago with 10 other ladies and we enjoyed playing this historical course. The staff was very helpful...we pre-ordered our lunch at the turn and they had everything ready for us. The cash only piece forced me to limit what I could spend.

Half the greens were on the fairways. Not mentioned when paying the $45 it costs to ride 18. That's an insane price for the dog track you play on. How these people cant get grass to grow in September in New Orleans is beyond me. Nice clubhouse and restaurant though.

Disappointed at being charged for a ride along, but they are not unique. At least it was a reduced rate. The course is nice to play its maintained quite well its not a manicured course neither is it $120 to play. Auto siren went off so they cleared the course only to find their were people teeing of on the first tee☹️ The restaurant food was great, beer was canned. I’d play it again

The course was in pretty good shape for the price, everyone was friendly, huge props to the starter Mr.Paul! He was amazing, very informative, even gave us a few golf tips before our tee off! He even remembered our names after 18, and recommended an amazing gumbo spot! 10/10 would play here again!

This place is an absolute goat track. I played this course two weeks ago and the greens were arguably the worst I have ever seen on a course. 15 of the 18 greens had more dirt and goose poop on them than actual green. You basically have to deduct a stroke any time you are putting. The fairways were okay at best. Just no upkeep at this course. The cart girl was awesome, super friendly and came around quite often, hence the two stars. I realize it's a $50 muni course, but this place was terrible. Really the only people that should play here are beginners that are learning the game and aren't wor…

I love that this course is a true 72 par. The greens were a little rough but they have been working on them. Great course for the price. Just remember it is cash only in the pro shop. You can book thru Golf Now and pay with a card thru them.

I would like to personally thank the staff at the golf course to include the club pro and also the Munch factory for the last 2 years of supporting our annual Trent's home Shriner golf outing The staff was amazing and very receptive to our and required needs and were very helpful during the process of registration

The course itself is in good shape. My issue is with the starters. The starters (older guys) can be very rude and they sometimes pull the flags an hour before sunset with no warning. I have had multiple bad experiences with them, one time a starter threatened to kick us off the course because we had a 6some scrambling. I understand their rules are against this to keep up the pace of play however we were one of two groups on the course at the time. The other group actually included this starter, who was off the clock but playing a round a couple holes behind us. Other than the starters and neve…

I’ve been trying to use this facility for the past two weeks, but have consistently been unable to because they are closing earlier than advertised. The posted hours on the website and the door say they close at 7 PM, but on several days they’ve closed as early as 5 PM—or even earlier. This has been very frustrating and inconvenient. Accurate and consistent operating hours are important for customers planning their visits.
