In summary

Hunter Ranch Golf Course is frequently praised for its beautiful setting, challenging layout, and well-maintained greens and fairways. The staff is often described as friendly and helpful, and the on-site restaurant receives positive remarks for its food and atmosphere. However, some visitors express concerns about the course's maintenance and the cost relative to its condition, as well as issues with customer service and the back nine's design.

For a course charging over $100, the condition was extremely disappointing. I’ve played many municipal courses at half the price that were maintained far better. Given the cost and reputation, this course is significantly overrated, and I would not return.

First time playing Hunter Ranch and the course is challenging. The back nine is a little quirky with blind shots and fairways that run out. Definitely pay attention to the GPS on the tiny screen to figure out your line. Pro shop and restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful for this first timer. Greens are firm and fast.

Surrounded by vineyards, this is a nicely designed challenging course, especially the back 9 holes where there are quite a few force carries and dog legged challenges. Condition was reasonably good in most holes. The restaurant also made a really delicious club sandwich!

Best golf course in Paso Robles by a wide margin. Well-maintained, especially the challenging greens. Grand vistas all around to take your mind off any shanking and slicing (not that it happens to me). Not cheap, though.

Complete trash golf course. Most expensive and worst conditions on the central coast. Golf cart turns off constantly and constant prompts you with dings and beeps that ur 5 min behind pace of play after you let 2somes pass your 4some and had to wait on them. Terribly maintained. Most expensive, least impressive golf course Ive ever played on in the central coast.

Great course with friendly staff. There are many holes with water holes to lose 2 to 3 balls a round, but it's a fun course.

Doesn't get much better than this. The course was in phenomenal shape, the weather was perfect, and the greens were immaculate. The fairways are generously wide, with a few exceptions. While the greens were fast, they weren't overly tricky. All-in-all, the course was challenging, but didn't beat you up. My only wish is I lived in the area and could play here more often.

The food is good, but the customer service is poor; they take a long time and don't bring you what you ordered.

Best driving range in town. They have a 3-hole pitching practice course that is a great way to dial in your wedges. The course is absolutely beautiful. I highly recommend stopping by when in town.

This place is awesome. Was a bit skeptical of the green fees but quickly realized they’re worth it as the greens are running PURE, bunkering is well maintained, and fairways are lush. Add in the thoughtful course design by a fairly renowned architect and you have a beautiful golf course.

Started going to hunter ranch again and it’s gone way downhill. Tee boxes are always trashed and uneven, the greens are always full of ball marks fairways are about the only good part. And all the times I’ve went the staff has been rude and or not very pleasant. And they complain about me RENTING a kart and always tell me they can’t keep doing that blah blah blah at a golf course for an hour to go hit some balls to go down to the driving range. So I’m glad I didn’t become a member. Have the day you deserve.

Nice staff. Cool club house and nice practice facilities. Greens are very good! Only reason for the 4 stars is the back nine. It’s just tricked up and you feel like they tried to fit holes in to finish the course.
