In summary

Gem County Golf Course is appreciated for its unique setting next to an airport runway, offering a distinctive golfing experience with friendly staff and affordable green fees. The course is noted for its simple layout, which includes a mix of par 3, 4, and 5 holes, and the clubhouse offers basic amenities like food and beverages. However, frequent criticisms include a severe mosquito problem, inconsistent course maintenance, and occasional issues with customer service and communication.

Was curious how it would be to golf next to the Emmett Municipal Airport, and was curious as to how that would work. Was pleasantly surprised. Not your typical golf course but was cool golfing next to the landing strip while planes and helicopters were landing/taking off. The courses was 9 holes and you could play it twice for an 18 hole round. We went for the $5 Friday ($5 per person per 9 holes, +$20 for a golf cart for the 18). It was a flat but nature course. Definitely tests your ability to hit straight. A good mix of 3, 4 a and 5 par holes. Their clubhouse has a lunch menu and beer, wi…

Nice local course, been around a long time. Cool staff. Don’t forget the 4 holes on the other side of the runway. They are making progressive improvements to irrigation and the course. Good place to spend the afternoon.

Absolutely disrespectful treatment today. On our second trip here. Playing midday Friday, and we were charged weekend prices. That's something I could look past, but after playing the front 9, the sprinklers were off and on for HOURS after that. During the day, during play. 😠 😡 We had to jump back and forth on holes to play them or completely abandon the hole in the middle of play because the sprinklers came on. At one point we were on the green, getting ready to putt and the sprinklers came on out of nowhere, shooting me right on the side of my shoulder and head, and got our bags and cart we…

Tried 3 times/visits to get that great burger. No luck. And one time we even called the day before & were told "yes" they'd be serving burgers the next day. But nope. Third time, a Saturday. During a tournament. Nope. No burgers. We're done. Consider yourself LUCKY if you get one.

I had a great time here! The folks in the clubhouse were super friendly. The course was very well maintained and fun to play on. Far exceeded my expectations given the cheap green fees. I can't speak regarding the mosquito problem that others reviewers seem to have had, as I visited here on a cool fall day, and there wasn't a single mosquito to be seen.

Was really excited to come visit this place because I saw on the website they offer $5 rounds on Fridays. However, when I got there the lady must’ve sensed I was from out of town and charged me $10. Didn’t mind because it was still a great deal. Then I walked out onto the course and was instantly eaten alive by mosquitoes. I couldn’t believe the lady at the pro shop wouldn’t warn me about how bad their mosquito problem was, especially when West Nile has recently been confirmed in the area. I made it half way through the first hole before deciding to get out of there. This was hands down the wo…

The staff were friendly and it was a nice little course but the mosquitoes made it unplayable. I applied a lot of bug spray as I was prepared for the mosquitoes after reading other reviews but it was no good, you can’t even concentrate to hit the ball without hundreds of them crawling all over you. My foot is currently swollen due to the bites on my ankles. I hate to spread bad word about this place but the truth is, unless you have some other options for repelling the mosquitoes you will want to leave after the first hole.

Would of course leave zero stars if I could. Terrible customer service and attitudes by the staff. A staff member made the comment that it’s hard to keep the club afloat and it’s no wonder with their lousy attitude and customer service. I love keeping my business local but will definitely not be going back and will be informing others not to go. Could be a cool place if it wasn’t for the staff. Bad drinks, bad mosquitoes, and bad staff. Truly an embarrassment to our normally friendly community.

Prices continue upward...course conditions are pathetic. More dandelions and weeds in the fairway than grass. No pull carts for walkers. Put some of that price increases into making the course, at least, small town quality.

Very disappointed! Not family friendly. The "maintenance" guy (he wouldn't give us his name) was VERY rude when we were trying to teach KIDS how to play the game. Very pushy and rude. They lost a few customers for sure.
