What People Say

In summary

Fort Myers Country Club is highly regarded for its classic Donald Ross layout, well-maintained greens, and friendly staff, offering a great value for a public course. Many appreciate the course's straightforward design, reasonable rates, and welcoming atmosphere, with some noting the helpfulness of pro shop staff. However, there are occasional criticisms regarding slow pace of play and some negative experiences with customer service, particularly concerning booking and tee time management.

A classic, straightforward layout that focuses more on accuracy than distance. Tight fairways, mature trees, and subtle doglegs keep the round interesting without feeling overly punishing. Course conditions are consistently solid for a municipal track, with smooth greens and reliable fairways. The routing is easy to walk and the overall atmosphere is relaxed, giving it an old-school Florida feel. In short, it’s a dependable, fairly priced spot for a simple, enjoyable round—nothing flashy, just honest golf in a convenient in-town setting.

This place is an absolute steal. While other courses like Valencia have more than doubled their in season greens fees, this place is $75 to walk. conditions are good, greens roll great, but on the slow side. The bunkers are phenomenal. And if you want a grade A example of Ross' architecture philosophy then book a round here. The closing hole is one of the best ive seen.

Nice public course to play in off season as a local (ie fort Myers and Cape Coral area) . Reasonable rates. But you must live in city limits to actually join as a member and the tee times fill up unbelievably fast during season so just don’t expect to walk on. Fairly well maintained , decent carts, nice food and drinks at the turn. Guys in the pro shop are very helpful and knowledgeable. I scored some great gear and apparel off season. Their sister course is also a great spot arguably a better course it but a further out location. Worth playing 18 if you can score an affordable tee time

Course is in mediocre condition. For over $100 pp we’d expect a beverage cart on the course and a decent hot dog on the turn. (Not a microwaved hot dog). The course needs better management the pro shop employees are very personable but bartender Mia is very rude’.

Played here recently and really enjoyed the classic Donald Ross layout. Fairways were open and the elevated greens made the approach shots fun and challenging. Staff at the pro shop was friendly, and it’s a solid value for a public course. Pace of play could be better at times, but overall a great round ,I’ll be back.

Fort Myers Country Club is hands down one of the best public courses around. The greens are absolutely immaculate, smooth, fast, and some of the purest putting surfaces I have played on in the area. You can tell the grounds crew takes a lot of pride in keeping the course in top shape. The staff is fantastic as well. Kari in the pro shop is awesome, super friendly, welcoming, and always helpful. She really makes you feel appreciated from the moment you walk in. Great course conditions, great atmosphere, and great people. I will definitely be back.

Friendly course. Played white tees. You can score well on this course if you are crisping shots. Open layout that accommodates both slicers and faders. Lot of elevated greens that punish you for being a hair left or right. Greens rolled well, but were not particularly fast. Solid outdoor bar for post round cocktails.

This course is a gem. The employees are super chill and the course is very well maintained. Greens are a bit slow but the way they’re positioned makes it really tough if you overshoot it. Fairways are crisp and in great condition. Golf carts are fast. I’ve been here 2x in one week since I discovered this course and will be coming back again and again.

If I could leave a negative review I would. I will never step foot on this golf course or Eastwood ever again and I am filing an ADA complaint with the city. The city golf courses do not want to grow the game. All they care about is money. I called an had a question and I got told “make it quick” , the staff in the pro shop are rude and entitled. If Rich Lamb were still alive this behavior wouldn’t be allowed.

If I could give it 0 stars I would. Every single person my friends and I spoke to treated us like a second class citizen. We thought since it’s a public course it would be beginner friendly. IT WAS NOT. Even when we let a man skip ahead of us we were still met with rude comments. We were forced to not finish the first hole just so we could wait over 10 minutes for the people in front of us to finish hole 2, which caused us to feel like we couldn’t finish a single hole due to the people pressuring us from behind. We paid for 18 holes but decided to end it at 9 because we just wanted to leave th…

What a joke of an experience. Had a tee time at 5:40 the front desk guy claimed he was the only one working but saw two other employees when I walked out said he couldn’t check us in due to a lightning strike and they closed at 6 so he wasn’t going to work with us. We wasted an hour drive from Naples. The sky was sunny and blue as you see in the pictures. Don’t golf here, give your money to a different course.

It's a great value and fun layout, solid par 3's, greens rolled great. Kari does a great job stocking the proshop with high quality item, priced well. Bonus, you can walk as well.
