What People Say

In summary

Fitzsimons Golf Course is appreciated for its historical significance, affordability, and friendly staff, making it a popular choice for both seasoned and casual golfers. The course layout, featuring older design elements and a variety of challenges, is generally well-received, although some visitors mention issues with noise from nearby roads and the condition of certain areas. Concerns about potential closure and maintenance levels are noted, but the course remains a valued part of the community for its nostalgic charm and accessibility.

Great course with all of the amenities. Only complaint is walking distance between holes.

This is an older style park land golf course giving you the feel of going back in time. There is a cool Eisenhower tree. The roads are a bit close at times. The price is nice. There is the threat of its closing in the nearer future.

Good course for the price. Nice variety and it's easy to find your ball if you're not in the fairway. Also, the clubhouse has an awesome breakfast burrito if you have the appetite.

I've played here at fitzsimons with my father since i was 12 or so. We've had alot of great memories. Its another great place to play. We also made it a point to go eat at the tin cup 2. Great food, always fresh. Rose is Amazing and the cooks make the experience one of a kind. I'd go there just to eat..

For years a great place to play. How ever in the last couple of years it has gone to hell. To bad Aurora became more interested in the almighty dollar. Really a shame. There will always be a place to build for some greedy developer. Not so with open space.

Holes 2-5 and 11-13 were nicknamed "Vroom Vroom Alley" due to all the cars whizzing by. Holes 4 and 5 are about twenty feet from the new light-rail station that's set to open; so I can't imagine very much improvement in terms of noise. Hole 8 was probably the worst hole I've ever played in my life (no exaggeration). Our group of 3 was debating on where the fairway was...You're dodging multiple chicken-wire nets throughout the course as well. The beverage cart disappeared around 11:30am... Greens were in decent shape. Will not be returning to this sub-par course, unfortunately.

Course is in really bad shape. The workers at the office are very polite and helpful. I understand that the course may be closing soon but to allow the level of disrepair that I saw is disheartening for this course.

I play alot in the evenings. They do a great job of starting people on the 1st and 10th tee to keep the play fast. Great value for the money, nice and open. Great course for the 95+ golfer.

This course has been in Aurora upto 100 years. Its a historical place in Aurora. They wanna close it down to build houses on it. The course is a great course and is alot of fun to play.

Great price, friendly staff. I golf this coarse every Wednesday and never get tiered of it. This coarse provides challenges due to old tree's that parallel the fairways.

If you go early season (April), expect aerated greens. Conducted tournament here last year. Golf pro is not personable. Relatively inexpensive greens fees.

Well kept older design municipal course. (Shorter holes with tight fairways and lots of dogleg's) great mountain and city views
