In summary

Farmingbury Hills Golf Club is appreciated for its unique and fun layout, with some visitors enjoying the challenging course and beautiful greens. However, there are consistent concerns about the course's maintenance, particularly with dry fairways and broken tees, and dissatisfaction with the customer service, including issues with staff conduct and policies regarding cart fees for non-golfers. Some guests have also experienced negative interactions with the grounds crew and rangers, impacting their overall experience.

Visited 11/13/2025. Early tee time, cold and windy day. I always love being out and golfing despite weather. I was pretty unhappy with the course conditions. Honestly, they were terrible and either rates should be lowered extremely or the course shut down for the rest of the year for maintenance. I understand winter is coming and that courses must be maintained, including aerating the greens, but jeez, it was really bad and not maintained well. I had a better experience a few months ago but it still wasn't 5-star. I'm being generous with a 2-star review with those two combined just because of…

Course is challenging but a little easier with some local knowledge. Course is actually 9 holes but with diffent tees for the front and back nine also one hole has a different green. One holes goes from a par to 5 on the back side. Course is in need of a little TLC due to the drought. Also there a more broken tees scatter on every tee box than I have ever seen. I will go back. 👍

I went to the course with my husband to simply ride along in the cart and watch him play. To my surprise, they charged me the full golf rate, even though I wasn’t playing… I’m pregnant and not much of a golfer. My husband golfs almost every weekend at different courses, and this is the first time we’ve ever encountered a policy like this. I could understand it at an upscale, well-maintained course, but for a second-rate course with dry fairways and large dead spots, it just feels unreasonable. We won’t be returning.

I rarely write reviews! I would give zero stars if I could. Booked tee time today. Have played here many times and took my daughter who was not playing. Usually play there because price is fairly low with a cart. Not today! Raised price to $40 for 9 holes and told me I had to pay the full $40 to have my 11 year old daughter just ride in the same cart with me! When i stated i have done this many times. I was told its a new policy this year. Got my money refunded and left. Way over priced now and the course is not in the best shape. Can pay $3 more and play at much nicer courses that won't charg…

I definitely had a memorable experience at this course. I called in and booked a tee time for 350 this Friday night. Pro shop told me try to get off no later than that because there is a league starting at 4. My friend and I came in a little early and actually teed off at 330 to avoid interfering with the league. After we hit our drives on the 4th hole, a woman and man who were playing a couple groups behind us came up to us and told us we were going to play with the two-some behind us or “the pro shop is that way” and pointed to her right. We asked who they were because it was very aggressive…

Not sure what the bad reviews are for. I went and had a blast. Nice people, ranger was nice, beautiful greens. Mostly par 4s. Nothing longer than 450 yards. $38 per person with cart included

Its okay. The ranger on the weekends is pushy and tells you to pick up the pace of play when there are multiple groups in front of you. (like we are supposed to play through a group of people). Course design isn't too challenging and greens are usually in pretty good shape but again, having a pushy ranger makes it so nobody has fun.

If you are a woman… or a golfer that doesn’t play at a million miles an hour you are not welcome here. The ranger working this Saturday, 06/08/24, was incredibly rude and chauvinistic. Suggesting the women play at the “child’s” tee point to speed things up. I thought golf was supposed to be a relaxed and easy going pastime? Mind you, we all had to wait over 10 minutes to tee off waiting for male golfers. Very disappointed in their treatment of their female customers. Spent the rest of the course driving the cart and let the boys play since I was not, as a woman, worthy of time to play here. Sp…

I showed up this morning for a 6:30am tee time. Starter gave me the go ahead to begin on time. When I got to hole 6, the groundskeeper that rolls the greens pulled up and began loudly yelling to his co workers that I shouldn’t be out there right now. The hole is a par 3 and I hit it short about 40 yards from the green off the tee box (it’s golf, it happens). During the backswing of my second shot, the worker proceeded to yell “Look where this kid is, he sucks!”. When I walked to the green to begin putting, the worker drove his vehicle right next to my ball and began to berate me about how I am…

Gave this course a one star review based on an experience we had with one of the owners (specifically David). We booked 18 holes for the day with four players and two carts. We played through our first 9 and as we got back to the first hole to play through for our second 9 we noticed a big crowd waiting to tee off. One gentleman stated they were in a tournament waiting for carts to come back. We approached the tee time attendant to notify him that we were ready to go through to the “back 9” yet he said we would have to wait because there is a tournament starting and we “were late for our back…

Good local course and would rate higher, but has some drainage problems year round after rain. Also, they added some painful speed bumps going down to the 4th hole. A bit excessive (10 bumps in a 20 foot span) and if you don’t have neck issues before your round you will after that hole.

The course was in rough shape for bring the middle of June. The speed bumps going down the hill on 4 after teeing off are useless except for banging your club’s together. And the pace was beyond slow with as many as 4 groups waiting in the same box. And the starter says it's typical here. We’ll fix it then. 2hrs and 40 minutes for 9 is offal long. I keep thinking it will get better but it’s the same thing each time. Finally learned my lesson and won’t be back.
