In summary

Carleton Glen Golf Club is appreciated for its friendly and welcoming staff, as well as its appealing course layout. However, many visitors express concerns about the course's maintenance, citing issues with overgrown tee boxes, bumpy and diseased greens, and rough cart paths. While the course is considered affordable, some feel the pricing does not reflect the current condition, and there are reports of inconsistent customer service experiences.

Paying $36 here was pure theft. The greens were a sad joke — waterlogged around the cups to the point my buddy didn’t even bother pulling out his putter. The tee boxes (or what’s left of them) were so overgrown that sticking a tee in was pointless; it felt like hitting out of the rough on the ones that were “maintained.” Maybe this course was decent once, but now it’s an embarrassment to SE Michigan. Even my Jeep would struggle on those cart paths. I don’t enjoy trashing small businesses, but there are plenty of solid courses around for $40–$50. Honestly, I’d have a hard time justifying $25 he…

Carlton Glen was a decent course. It has a really nice layout. The Fairways were maintained and the ruff was a little punishing. My only complaint was that the greens were not as maintained as they could be. A couple were diseased and a little bumpie. All and all I would play this course again.

The owners and staff are the nicest and down to earth people you will ever meet. I drive 40 minutes to golf there. Because they make you feel like family. Very nice golf course for the price.

There are definitely areas of the course that are beyond rough, and sometimes the place could use a mow, but ultimately a good place that's affordable to get a practice round in.

Use to golf here a lot but things started getting a little run down so it's been over a year since we had been here. Unfortunately the course was even in worse shape then a year ago. Said as the layout is great and it could be an awesome course. Won't be back anytime soon.

Not bad for a quick 9 or 18 a little pricey for the quality of the fairways and greens beer was cold and fairly priced and they offer no military, Veteran or 1st responders discounts.

I was confused when I first pulled in and there was no one here I soon figured out why the tee boxes are as tall as ruffs should be and the ruffs are a foot tall. You have to be on the pga to not lose every ball even when you hit the fairway there are random foot tall patches of grass that you can’t find your ball in. This course is great if you need a reason to end your life 28$ for this course is a joke.

Great layout of a course horribly maintained greens were like a minefield and the roughs were almost 8 inches high could barely see the ball. For 38 dollars I was expecting a well maintained course but it was far from that. Probably won’t be back

I like the staff at this establishment. They keep me coming back. They are friendly and courteous. The putting greens are rolling better as the years go by. This is a huge plus.

For as much as this is a good layout it is very poorly managed. We played today and the greens were so slow (shaggy) it was barely worth playing. The grass was extremely LONG everywhere, the tee boxes were torn up and bridges where all rotted out. If this was sold to an owner that put some money into it then it could be a great course.

5 people Drove 40 minutes for a tee time at 4:50pm to golf and they told us we couldn’t have a rider. 4 golfers, 1 rider. We asked them if we could go out one after the next, they said no. They also told us they don’t care about the money, so I guess this buisness doesn’t care they just lost over $100 because they wouldn’t let someone be a rider. Hopefully the owners see this so they know they don’t care about making money

Holyyy boys, $25 for 9 and cart. 4 inches tall grass on teeboxes, brown hard dirt greens, 4 inch tall grass for fairways, 6 some in front, cart was nice so there we go. They should’ve payed me to golf here essentially. I will never play this course again unless they payed me or if it was like $5 that’s about it. ITS A SCAM. And if you continue to go after this review, should’ve trusted a fella. The photos are deceiving.
