What People Say

In summary

Lilac Golf Course receives mixed reviews, with many visitors appreciating the friendly staff and the course's challenging layout, particularly its long par 5 holes. However, several reviews highlight issues with course maintenance, such as poor greens, overgrown fairways, and inadequate sand bunkers, which detract from the overall experience. The course is under new ownership, and some patrons are optimistic about future improvements.

So the 4 stars are for two reasons. #1 course is under new ownership and has already began improving everything. Bunkers will be playable soon, fairways are nicely cut, greens are still bad, but it will get there. #2 I've played this course for 5 years in a league and we left because the owners let is go, from the last time I played this course till now, dramatic difference. I'm excited to see how great this course can get. The course is long, par 5 from the tips over 600 yards. You want a challenge? Try to shot par here.

Staff was nice when booking tee time and checking in and that’s about the best part of this whole coarse. Not impressed, coarse condition was 3rd world country at best. Tee boxes had long dead grass on them. Fairways where so tall it was almost impossible to find your ball and the rough was absolutely a joke over 2 feet tall. Greens looked like they had teenage acne so terrible and lumpy. In addition the sand bunkers had better grass growing in them than the fairways. In my opinion not worth the time or money to golf there. One positive note is on hole 7 I did like the abandoned golf cart to t…

The course was literally the worst course I’ve ever been to. I’d rather play golf in the city streets of Detroit. The fairways looked like the Serengeti. Greens had disease and ant mounds. There was even an abandoned cart in hole 7 near the green. I was really hoping it was a nice course. Staff outside was a little rude. The girl at the window was super nice.

Nicest owners ever. Very welcoming and helpful, but this course was the worst course I have ever golfed on.... Hit 9 holes, back 9, and the owners told us to expect clippings around since they cut it the other day. And wow there were piles of clippings all around the course. Not only that, even though they recently 'mowed' you couldn't even tell the difference between the fairway and rough half the time. Sand pits without sand. Just a very neglected course. The area would be beautiful and I can see it being a nice course, but as of right now maybe they are understaffed with THE WHOLE covid sit…

Yeah....played here on and off for a few years now. Probably not coming back. From the spring till now, no improvement. Rude bar staff, horrible putting greens, golf carts are a joke. Had 2 break down in the past. Not sure why others can rate this over 2 stars, maybe if you've never been to another course in your life I guess. I could play in my front yard and putt to a gopher hole and have a better experience. Maybe 15$ would be ok charge. Or free drinks to make you forget the course conditions.

Just played a golf outing there. Course is in terrible shape. Half greens are infected and half the fairway are socking wet. How can fairway be under water when we have had no rain. Poor management. If you are having a golf outing go somewhere else.

The course looks great, it's always mowed nice and kept up on. This course is long and wide open so it's good for the worst and the best golfers.

Been going here for 20 years. Carts could be better and faster, but otherwise decent place to play. Nice club house. Great people service.

Course used to be decent but recently upkeep has slim to none. The grass has taken over the fairways and the rough is out of control.

Friendly staff. Pace of play excellent. Owner's working hard on condition of course. Long 7000 yards. Open fairways grip it and rip it.

I would say 3 and a 1/2 stars leaves weren't bad greens in rough shape
