In summary

Bowling Green Country Club is appreciated for its well-maintained greens, affordable pricing, and friendly staff, with particular praise for improvements under new management in the pro shop. The course is described as a straightforward 9-hole layout that offers a good challenge for accurate players. However, there are significant concerns about customer service, particularly regarding interactions with the golf pro, which some visitors found to be unprofessional and discouraging.

We worked with Jeff Szabo to have our graduation party at Bowling Green Country Club. He is an angel for having helped us put together our celebration. Special shout out Anna. She took care of our guests. They made it special event for our son. Thank you so much!

Short straight forward 9 hole course. If you're accurate you can score well. If you can't hit your irons or wedges it can be challenging. Good greens. Kind of a weird hole in the wall location. But a very nice place for the price!

Drove to BG Country Club to dine while listening to and watching the Otsego High School Swing Choir. A very casual environment but great service from Anna; food was served very promptly. We met the manager as well, who was very welcoming, kind and encouraged us to come back to golf their 9-hole course.

This course is the definition of average. The fairways are generally in decent condition. The greens are tiny and in okay condition. The bunkers in the fairway are overgrown and poor. The bunkers around the green are in slightly better condition but still not great. The pro is rude and generally not helpful. If you want a cheap, small course to play then come here. Otherwise, spend the few extra bucks to play a good course somewhere else in the area.

Lovely course but not lovely people. Pro shop attendant was extremely rude and argumentative when trying to book a tee time and ask questions regarding availability. Revision: New pro shop manager called and apologized to make things right. He was super sweet and went above and beyond, so thank you!

Do not waste your money. This is one of the worst experiences I have ever had on a golf course. The course is poorly kept to begin with, having large patches of dead grass all throughout the 9 hole course (though they advertise 18 holes available to play, their “18 holes” is just the same 9 looped around again). Months after playing for the first time, I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt, and try to see if the grounds had been improved at all. I called to ask about availability and set up a tee time, and was yelled at, because Tom “had no idea what was going on out on the course to…

The changes made in the proshop this year under Tim Harris, have made such an improvement, with positive attitudes and friendly staff! And The Fairway Grill is amazing as always!

Undoubtedly the worst experience I've ever had at a golf course, public or otherwise and I've been golfing for over 10 years. If I could give 0 stars I would. The owner/golf pro Tom Garcia treated my brother and I like we were children. I'm 28 years old and do not deserve to be talked down to the way I was today, especially as a paying customer. We were a few minutes late for our tee time (maybe 5 or so) and when we walked in the clubhouse he started in on us. He repeatedly in a threatening tone told us that we better be off of his course by 3:00 pm. We asked him for our money back and he woul…

This is a small 9 hole course that has so much potential for being great for beginner or average golfers. We took our boys 9 and 11 who have had lessons and driving range experience for a few years atleast and do pretty decent . This was their first time on a course. The Pro golfer there, Tom Garcia ,was one of the rudest people I have ever encountered and I work in healthcare which says a lot . He spoke extremely rude to my husband and I. Not in a “ok let’s keep It going” kinda a way. It was aggressive and harassing. He followed my family around until we just left. We had verbal arguments wit…

By far the worst golfing experience of my life. Not only was the course in poor conditions(which I’m not upset about) the the pro shop cashier, a shorter, stocky, older, black haired gentleman, followed us around the golf course watching us golf, and approached us twice for doing things that were not “industry standards”. We were not being loud, we were playing at a respectful pace, and were being respectful of the course. Out of the three of us, he claimed we “were using the course as a driving range” after one golfer used his mulligan after hitting his ball in the lake. This gentleman was co…
