Day before T'giving I took my son and his buddies (HS Golf team) for an 18 hole fun fest. Had a great time and the golf shop treated us really well. Will certainly come back. the Course: Front 9 = hilly with some blind shots. Back = flatter (not flat) but lots of risk reward shots. Love the layout and it was in good condition considering all the play it gets.

As a Canadian who has been travelling to Virginia for nearly 25 years, this has to be one of the best courses I’ve played here or at home. Fun and challenging layout for any handicap. Awesome views and well maintained. A little disappointed to not see the beverage cart one time during our round (tee time 3:03 pm) on a hot Thursday afternoon. But overall a great experience!

5 stars for the price. Nice layout with lots of elevation change. Greens, bunkers, fairways and tee boxes in good shape.

Been playing this course for almost 8 years now. You won’t find a better course for the money anywhere in Northern,VA. The staff is ALWAYS over the top! The maintenance crew ALWAYS has the course in tip top shape! A true gem! If you play it once you will be back again and again! I attached some pics from over the years, ENJOY!!!

This is in my top 5 local courses for many reasons, it's a hidden gem! The price can't be beat, it's in a beautiful location, it's challenging, there's a lot of elevation changes, and well maintained! The photo is of the 15th hole, the fairway and green are on the left side.

Sept 2024 blue tees (6,787 /73.1/138) Senior, 1st time at Shadows, will be back! Very interesting, hilly, challenging course with mix of trees on front/water on back. Play correct tees for your HC! Ex whites are 550 yards shorter than blues Course gets a lot of play but is well maintained. Greens consistent /hold shots Mix of long par 3s, long &short par 4s, scoreable par 5s. Staff was busy & welcoming. Great $$ value for weekday seniors ($45) ProTip - hit fairways to score! Burger afterwards was delicious!

Course itself is fine, but booked tee times (by talking with the pro shop) for first thing in the morning the day of a wedding we all had to go to (had email confirmation of the times). When we get there, the starter sheet has us going out 20 mins after our confirmed first time, and the pro shop had a different time also. They sent out 3 groups in front of us and we waited a few times on tee boxes. Just know you might get bumped when you book here (without them telling you about it).

Beautiful views. Course was in good shape! Greens were fast and in really good shape except for all the ball marks that people don’t fix. :-(. Always a pleasure to play there!

This is the best course in the area. I live in the community and I see the maintenance they do. Lots of long forestry holes on the front 9 and lots of water on the back 9. Dang lakes are magnetic and stole a good number of my balls. Maybe I should practice more ;)

We had tournament round last Sunday 10/20. Beautiful course in great shape, green is fast and roll true, about 9-10. There was another group had 36 holes tournament in front of us. We were delayed because of frost and tournent.

Awesome staff, great layout, good conditions, tough course. Some blind hilly shots so keep an eye on your ball. Shared green was a nice feature.

One of the best golf courses i ever played. Well maintained and scenic. Some holes are very challenging but with proper course management, you'll do well. Can't wait to play here again.
