In summary

Arrowhead Lakes Golf Club is frequently praised for its well-maintained 9-hole course, reasonable pricing, and friendly staff, making it a popular choice for a quick and enjoyable round. The course layout is appreciated for being accessible to various skill levels, with some water features and a few par 5s adding interest. However, some visitors have reported negative experiences with staff interactions, particularly regarding policies on single players and group play, which have led to dissatisfaction for a few patrons.

I'm a traveling worker and like to play local courses in the towns I stay. I played this course 1 month ago as a single. I spoke with the owner and expressed how wonderful this 9 nine hole course plays. Unfortunately, today I was in the same town, called to get out on the course, was met with rudeness over the phone. The gentleman said "We dont let singles out on our golf course, EVER!" He was very displeased i asked. Value your customers, Arrowhead. Regardless if it's 1 or 12.

The tees, fairways, and greens are in great shape. The course has done a good job of maintenance despite the hot weather we have had lately.

I was very impressed with course conditions, particularly the fairways considering it’s just a cheap 9 hole course and how hot it’s been. Great value and fun score-able layout

I’ve always enjoyed this course—it’s usually easy to play a quick nine, and the value for the green fees is great. However, my most recent visit will be my last. To the owners: your counter attendant has lost you over 20 rounds worth of fees and cart rentals from me, my sons, daughter, and wife. When I arrived at the course, the first two holes were completely open, there was no one on the first tee, and the parking lot was practically empty. I went to check in around 2:10, only to be told by the attendant that there was no availability for 30 minutes until a twosome was scheduled to arrive.…

Tidy, very well-kept public 9-hole course in Galena. One of my favorite options for a quick (<2hr) round on a weekday. Lots of league play but I’ve always had good luck calling for tee times. They have a small driving range, putting and chipping greens. No food in the clubhouse but there’s a general store across the street.

Great course, but only 9 holes so not all golfers will be interested.

Great 9 hole course. Fairways & greens were in very good shape. I will definitely play there again.

This is a nice little 9 hole course with decent greens. The intermediate or advance golf will not find the course very challenging. Water is present on a few holes but really does not come into play unless you hit a shot poorly. Additionally there are few bunkers. I went around twice to make an 18 hole round and my ball never found a bunker once. So why do I consider this a nice little 9 hole course? The course is well maintained with good definition between fairway and rough. The green are not fast but the roll true with some break. It is not a bunch of par 3s masquerading as par 4s, and the…

Good quick nine hole course. Backs up quickly because of people playing 1 and those making the turn. Easy to get a tee time in the week. Flat course with some woods and water. Fairways were being aerated on a few holes which was a challenge, but kind of unavoidable. A lot of strange reviews about unfriendly/hostile staff, but I didn't see any evidence of that on our outing. The Pro shop is pretty bare bones.
