In summary

Alling Memorial Golf Course is praised for its beautiful and challenging layout, friendly staff, and reasonable pricing, with many noting recent improvements and renovations. The course is generally well-maintained, though some visitors have reported issues with high grass, slow pace of play, and occasional booking system glitches. Today a friend and I had a very nice lunch from The Cove and an enjoyable hour of golf next door on the golf simulator. The owner of the Cove who served us couldn't have been nicer to us. And the Asst Pro at the clubhouse was extremely helpful and accommodating to us in using the simulator and arranging our lunch. Look forward to going back soon.

Such a beautiful course. It just keeps getting better. Looking forward to watching the progress over the next year. The Cove is open! Great food and lots of fun!! Year round, 7 days a week, all day!

I’m very disappointed. I’ve been coming here for 5 years, and this was my go to place to play. I would have weekly tee times, but not anymore. The course is a great layout, but is in awful shape. Some of the tee boxes are unuseable and the greens aren’t great. The rough is extremely high (we’re talking 4-5 inches around the greens, for no reason) and the fescue (which is a great addition) is all over the place. Right now, it seems like they don’t have the workforce to keep up with the maintenance. This place used to pride itself on its great conditioning. The staff worked their butts off to…

This course has undergone an amazing transformation over the past few years and should only improve with the new renovations. It is a fun and challenging layout. The course is well kept and pace of play has significantly improved. New online booking system makes it easier to schedule and pay for a tee time compared to how things used to be years ago. Kyle and Ian have done a great job bringing the course back to life. Great system, great customer service, great management. Can’t wait for my next round

Not worth it. Course was running 30 mins behind on a Saturday morning. Course conditions sub optimal. With so many good courses in CT, skip this one until they get it together.

A true gem of Connecticut. Don't be put off by the current condition of the clubhouse and the parking lot. Course is in immaculate condition in what may go down as the hottest and driest summer of all time. Staff is down to earth and grounds crew was working hard in the summer heat. I'll take this course over some private courses in the area.

Nice layout great prices I did play During the week, but it was a $120 for 2 people to play 18 with a cart not bad. The course was in very good. The greens are quick but rolled well, really a nice course. Was pleasantly surprised when I saw the first tee

Front entrance needs a face lift. New Haven cannot forget about one of its oldest landmarks. The crew and members are a class act. Everyone is friendly and helpful. Challenging course

The grass was so high we were losing balls on the fairway. - Staff was professional - Course has a lot of opportunity to be great - 4/18 of the greens are in absolute atrocious condition with probably 2/18 of them pristine. - Hole 6 or 7 you have to shoot basically through over hanging trees. They honestly need to have a sit down and strategize and brush hog half the course and cut the grass either more frequently or a lot lower. Or both. Wouldn't pay to play here again to be completely honest. Lost too many balls in play because the grass literally ate them up.
