In summary

Windmill Lakes Golf Club is frequently praised for its well-maintained course, challenging layout, and excellent pro shop with a wide selection of goods. The staff is noted for being friendly and accommodating, enhancing the overall experience. However, some visitors have mentioned issues with drainage after heavy rains and a slow pace of play, particularly on weekends when tee times are tightly scheduled.

The great reviews for Windmill Lakes are warranted. I was very impressed with this public club. The pro-shop and locker room are both top notch. Lots of sale items available if interested. The course itself was in great shape for mid-season let alone mid-March when l played. I was the first to tee off on a weekday and all the greens had been rolled and ran smooth. What impressed me the most was the condition of the bunkers. They were raked and in great shape. These are some of the best public bunkers I’ve seen/played, even more impressive on an early March morning. The course itself has ple…

Played 11/1/24 - course was in solid condition at start of November. Lots of leaves, but that’s mother natures wicked wind. We enjoyed the front 9, for sure. Back 9 is pretty straight forward. A fun and challenging track. Really awesome pro shop for sure, solid deals all around as well. Definitely will return during season and play again. Greens were punched and healing but definitely playable. Hit em long and str8

Very nice course with well maintained tee boxes, fairways and greens. Enjoyed plying there with my friends today and home of the Kent State University golf team. Will be back soon.

Nice course with a challenging layout and in decent shape. The staff was friendly and we had a nice day. It had rained hard prior to us playing and there was a LOT of casual water on the course. Still a great place to play but drainage is an issue. Good value for the weekday price.

The course has a good variety of hole layouts and was in decent shape. The flowers and landscaping around the clubhouse were well-maintained. However, the course doesn’t drain well. After a stretch of rain, there were puddles across fairways and it was cart path only; all 18 holes. One major downside: they charge $65 on weekends with no discount for walking. That’s steep, especially without a cart. Carts have GPS monitors, and the clubhouse was well stocked. A beverage cart made regular rounds, and the attendant was friendly, handing out free water on a 90-degree day, which was appreciated. Th…

Loved it! Difficult and very well kept. The layout is fantastic but be prepared for some long par 4s. I will be back.

Nice course. We all had a lot of time to look at it. No carts were available. Our tee time passed. Still nothing. Finally 20 minutes past our tee time we got carts for our foursome. Cart barn had no carts. After waiting for the carts we played our round, still waited, after nine we quit. Started at noon, ended nine at 3pm. We originally had 18 booked, but could not afford a 6 hour round. We actually drove to this course from Medina because I heard good things. The greens were nice, the course was good. Just slow players. Too many people packed on the course with no ranger. Too many tee times.…

This is the second time I have played Windmill although probably 5 or 6 years separated the two events. First, the layout. I play the regular t's which are just under 6200 yds, par 70. I think that most of the par fours play between 377 and 410, the par threes 165-185, and the two par fives in the 520 range. There are dog legs left and right. Water on several holes that is in play. Plenty of tree lined fairway. Most if not all of the threes have a bunker or pond in front, and are a bit elevated with the green slanting away from the bunker. Most bunkers are left and right with an occasional one…

Wonderful golf course. Enjoyed the challenge. Rolling terrain, but not too hilly. Knees felt good after the round. Look forward to playing again.
