What People Say

In summary

Tom O'Leary Golf Club is frequently praised for its well-maintained course, scenic views, and challenging yet enjoyable layout, making it suitable for golfers of all levels. The staff is noted for being friendly and accommodating, and the course's central location in Bismarck adds to its appeal. However, some visitors mention issues such as occasional slow pace of play, limited amenities in the clubhouse, and the need for more frequent beverage cart service.

I really enjoyed the course. We'll groomed, and the greens were challenging but not insane. Would have liked to see the beverage cart more often tho.

Fun scenic course. Was impressed with how quickly it played. There are some nice walking trails on the course and an Arboretum.

What an enjoyable, challenging, and welcoming course. It's a busy course with lots of groups, but the pro shop is also able to work on singles. The front nine is full of rolling hills and generous fairways. I recommend a cart if you aren't accustomed to hiking up hills. Watch your slopes, as they are dramatic and affect your roll out. Hole 8, my favorite, is secluded and a fun challenge. You'll lose fewer balls on the front nine than the back, with more water hazards and out of the way back tee boxes. The back 9 plays around the pretty arboretum and across the creek. Watch for wildlife, especi…

Good use of hills with elevated tees and greens. Greens were a little slow, but very consistent and well maintained. Fairways were consistent. Teeboxes were having some trouble with invasive grasses and it was difficult to find a level area. Cart paths could use some repair. Clubhouse was very clean, but very little golf equipment or snack options. A few holes are weird distances and required layups or big gambles.

When I was there for around of golf. It was great. The course is well kept up. All the greens are full and not patchy. The staff are all very friendly and willing to assist with all of your needs. call at least a week ahead for your Tee Times. They book up pretty fast in season.

Fun golf course. Not too difficult but some spots will give you a run for your money. Greens are kept green and clean. Golf carts are maintained and if you need to rent a set of clubs, they got them. Rates are reasonable and even better if you are a student.

The gents and I were playing in the Capitol Summer Bonspiel. The gent at the desk managed to squeeze us in after our game on Friday. The Warden was nice. Our pace might not have been the best but we enjoyed the front 9. The greens were well kept up and while we had to chase some balls, they were easy to find in the out of bounds area.

What an incredible piece of property to have right in the middle of town. Tom O'Leary was my backyard growing up and all the sledding, cross country skiing, and playing in the coulee I did are some of the best memories of my life. Nice hilly 18 hole golf course is a good challenge.

A beautiful golf course right in the center of town. Very well kept with a lot of space. Located right by the YMCA and a tennis court. Virtually empty past midnight, so it's a good place to wander alone in the dead darkness. I have experienced multiple time distortions here.

Very friendly and encouraging staff .. thank you for your friendliness and interest in the game. The course is actually extremely fun.. somedays you can drive #9 easily .. somedays walking to the 5th hole real slow feels like Italy somehow.. the most gorgeous view in Bismarck I will ever see I believe.. The course has taught me some very valuable lessons after about 8 rounds.. I have a bad knee and walked 18 once and it was too much so I invested in a cart.. It is a workout simply walking it which these days for me i am fortunate to have the opportunity.. Someday I'll be able to drive the 12th…
