What People Say

In summary

Riverwood Golf Course is praised for its well-maintained greens, challenging layout with mature trees, and friendly staff, making it a popular choice among golfers. The course offers good amenities, including a driving range and frequent beverage cart service. However, some visitors have experienced issues with overbooking, slow pace of play, and restrictive cart path rules, which have impacted their enjoyment.

I was deciding between Riverwood and Tom O’Leary to get a season pass to and after playing each Riverwood is the better course. The greens at Tom O aren’t maintained the best and had rough patches, the greens at Riverwood are in great condition. Riverwood is a challenging course with areas of tall grass as the rough for most holes making it a course that rewards accuracy. Riverwood has lots of trees which is great for staying cool in the summer. Riverwood is groomed very well and is a great course. The only thing Tom O has going for itself is it’s an easier course.

We won’t be back. The course was nice and the greens were good. The group before us was late and cut in front of us on the first hole at our tee time . We then also let a twosome through on the first hole. The twosome were walk ups without a scheduled tee time. It went ok until the 15th hole when some Karen from a couple groups back came up and told one of the guys in our group to pick up the pace. (We still had the twosome in site in front of us). We paid good money to enjoy an afternoon of golf that was ruined because the overbooking of the course and an idiot that couldn’t mind his own busi…

Horrible service, rude marshal. Paid for 18 holes at 4:00 and on hole 15 at 6:45 I was told to get off the course because the employ kids to young to work past 7:00

Not coming back. Just finished a 9-hole with a couple of friends, and the staff experience was not great. We showed up at our tee time and the staff member took a while setting us up, which put us behind on time. At this point people had already gone before us, leaving us with barely any time to golf. We're all pretty new to golfing, and wanted to just have a fun time, but not like this. I personally only finished 2 holes, because we were behind in time, people were waiting behind us. We had to keep skipping holes because the people behind us were catching up. On the 5th hole, that same staff…

Course was in great shape. Was sold 18 hole round at 4:45pm. But wasn’t told until I teed off on 10, that all cart need to be back by 7 because it is a school night. Mentions federal labor laws….which was BS. Did receive refund. But schedule cart techs till dark. Poor effort by the course or city???

Well kept for a public course. Course can be challenging with lots of trees lining the course. Seems to be in the process of updating things such as carts. Hopefully it’s just a slow process because the geo fence on the cart stop on the path

Great course cut out of a forrest with some severely sloping spots on greens! Course was in great shape today despite some slow greens. Cost is interesting as green fees are reasonable, but everything else is very expensive...drinks, food, balls, tees, club rental (32!) All of it surprisingly expensive. All in all a good time but know before you arrive.

Riverwood Golf Course is an exceptionally well maintained public course with more shade and less wind than expected, courtesy of the trees. There are no hidden pins but with the volume of trees, thick rough and tight fit it’s easy to lose balls. Red penalty areas may force a provisional ball from the tee on holes 8, 12, and 15. Holes 3 and 11 have drop areas. Hole 16 has a white under repair area left of the green. Watch for stray balls from adjacent tees near the forward tees on holes 9 and 15. Holes 9 and 10 have potential for property damage with a street lining one and homes the other. Pac…

Riverwood is one of the best golf courses in Bismarck. Well maintained with mature trees. Please don't chase the turkeys that wander through.

Beautiful greens, friendly staff, affordable pricing. It is truely an amazing and such a peaceful place to shoot at the driving range too. With it being only 6 dollars for a small bucket, and 12 dollars for a large bucket, it's pretty amazing.I highly recommend you go here!
