My husband has been wanting to golf this course for ages and we finally made it happen! I will sum it up with 3 letters...WOW 😍 The course is absolutely beautiful and well maintained. Though not a requirement for a golf course, it was an added bonus that it was teeming with wildlife. Who knew?! The golf carts are super nice, but the GPS lock on them got a little annoying 😅. The club house was also great. Everyone working was incredibly nice, knowledgeable and genuinely seemed happy to be there. We had lunch and everything was good (probably wouldn't order the stuffed shrimp again - but that…

I was unaware of Hawktree until I read Tom Coyne's book titled A Course Called America, and he rated it higher than Bully Pulpit in his book. Given a professional golf writer's rating I thought I had better see it for myself. My family and I played nine holes (front nine) on a Tuesday at the end of August. The conditions were very warm. However, the carts were clean, staff was courteous, the starter was helpful and knowledgeable, and the course was in very good condition compared to many courses in Minnesota and Wisconsin. We lost a few balls along the way in the rough of the taller grasses.…

The only reason this course even deserves one star is because of the layout, which is fantastic. I’ve played this course various times since it was initially built so I’ve seen it through the ups and downs. The last few years are definitely the down years. The fairways are some of the worst fairways I’ve played on. It appears the owner or greenskeeper doesn’t believe in fertilizer, urea, and/or grass seed. It’s unfortunate to hit a drive in the fairway and you have to figure out how you’re going to hit the shot because of the way the ball nestles down into the hardpan. Speaking with locals the…

I experienced my first round this week. It's a beautiful course with amazing views and friendly staff. A great long and challenging course. Unfortunately we lost more balls than usual, the course was very confusing even with the GPS on cart. There is definitely a lack of signage regarding what hole you are on and where and what tee box to use. Also the wait time was really unfortunate, it says expected pace of play is 15 mins each hole, but impossible to do with t-times 6 minutes a part!

Course was beautiful but the tee boxes were poorly labeled, some of the box markers were in the weeds. Luckily we figured to look for the white lines on the path for tee boxes. Make it easier for guests to find their way!

Hawktree was a great golfing experience. Excellent layout with multiple elevation changes. Course was difficult but fair. Course requires you to stay in play. Multiple tee boxes for every skill level. Nice practice range and the balls are included with golf. I recommend this course to anyone who enjoys golf.

It’s a nice course with a great practice area. However, it’s the most overrated course I’ve ever played. Designed only for cart golf, you will surprisingly find yourself backtracking throughout the course and often directly back toward the group behind you. Pull the pin when you putt, as the sticks don’t fit the cups so they lean across the low side of the hole. Tee blocks throughout the very nice tee areas are set about 10 feet wide. No on-course concessions (beer/water cart etc.). It’s a good loop for a bogey golfer at any of the mid tees. Not real impressed for $110 (in season non pass hold…

Hawktree is the best golf course in ND. Period. It is very challenging, but is incredibly rewarding when your game is on. There are multiple tees to suit all handicaps to ensure fun is had by all. The views are spectacular and the staff and facilities follow suit. If you are in the area, check it out, you will not be dissapointed. Side note - if you aren't into golf swing out to the Hawk's Nest for the breakfast sandwiches, they are worth the trip on their own.

This is a great course for the Bismarck area. It has some picturesque views that one might not expect for a golf course in that area. Bring lots of extra balls, as higher handicap players will find this a bit difficult. Golf balls are hard to find off the fairways! Staff was very pleasant. Thanks to Mike for making our round memorable!
