What People Say

In summary

Thunderbird Golf Course is frequently praised for its friendly and welcoming staff, particularly Vern and Russ, who enhance the overall experience. The course, set in a beautiful landscape near Zion National Park, offers a fun and affordable golfing experience with its unique layout and well-maintained greens. However, some visitors have noted issues with course maintenance, such as uneven tee boxes and outdated carts, and occasional difficulty in booking tee times.

Great little course and fantastic value! This 9-hole executive course has a unique character that makes it a memorable stop for anyone passing through. While the greens are on the slower side, the layout is enjoyable and offers just the right mix of challenge and fun. The lady that set us up was excellent - friendly, welcoming, and really makes you feel appreciated. It was the perfect stop during our drive, and we’d happily play here again. While it is far from a resort, I highly recommended for the value and experience!

A cool hidden gem in my opinion. Firstly, for a 9 hole track it has some interesting holes. They have 4 par 4s and they aren't terribly long but they are cool. I was honestly expecting a back and forth across a field and that's not what it is. A lot of the greens are concealed by trees and there are hazards and elevation change as well. The conditions could be a little better. But a guy was out mowing a little after we started and the greens were great after that. It can be a little hard to get a hold of the office to book a time but this place is a small business and it's the only place aroun…

Such a fun, quick golf course. Amazing staff, Randy at the pro shop is so friendly. Tucked in some beautiful scenery made for the perfect day. Also, the Subway in the nearby gas station had the best service!

It's the little things and the big things. The holes aren't cut right (sometimes the cup sits above the ground). The greens are never in good condition anymore. They don't maintain and fill the ball-washers. They run sprinklers on the green while people are playing. The tee boxes are uneven. The carts are old and unreliable. Aside from Vern, the customer service is lacking. And to top it all off, they raised rates this year. This used to be such a neat course until ownership changed. Now it feels like they're just cashing checks.

My husband and I are regulars here. Are there nicer courses in Saint George? Sure. But what keeps us coming back and what has us being regulars is specifically Vern. He makes the experience EVERYTHING. He goes above and beyond.

The scenery around the 9 holes are pretty. The course itself is nothing too special, the fairways all blend together & so it plays really tight. Beware of balls flying all over the place. For the price point, you can't beat it tho! A great way to relax after adventuring around Zion or Kanab. The 5 stars are all because of Russ from the Pro Shop. His service is above & beyond, he really tries to make a genuine connection with anyone he runs into. Russ is the man & made our stay in this area all the more memorable!

Had a great time. Nine holes but great to practice on. Greens and fairways in great shape and not much play going on. Will go back and get in more practice as I surely need it. For a place out in the middle of no where this is wonderful. And the views are awesome. But then again I love southern Utah.

No expectations coming in and seeing how small a chunk of land they had to work with..... nested in a beautiful landscape!!! No score card, no yardages. Hole numbers spray painted on to concrete barriers... Perhaps the layout isn't challenging for the experienced folks, but hey, it's a fun and different challenge to have to use nothing but your own eyesight to judge distances. I put a few irons a club or two too far or too close. That's my fault!! The biggest surprise was how good of shape the greens were in. They were soft and rolled true. So much that I started creating a conspiracy theory…

I love this Golf Course. My husband has been playing golf for years, but I just got into it and have been learning on this course. One of the front desk gentlemen is a little rude, but the other (Colby) is awesome and always friendly. The course itself is not like a PGA Tour course, but it's fun, beautiful and plays well!
