The setting alone makes it worth the visit. The course is in excellent condition — fairways and greens are beautifully maintained, and the small, well-protected greens make approach shots fun and challenging. Pace of play was great — a relaxed, quick round with no waiting around. Some might find the $45 price tag high for just 9 holes walking. But it’s a solid value given the location and course quality. There aren’t many public options nearby, and Fenwick easily stands out for its views, condition, charm, and history. If you’re in the area and want a scenic, fast, and well-kept nine holes b…

Recently played this course at the end of August 2025. This was our first time playing this 9-hole course in Fenwick which is a borough of Old Saybrook, CT. Before I continue, please note that this is a public golf course but also has members who have early access to tee times. For public tee times, you must log in online 24-hours prior. Tee times are available at 6 AM the previous day for the public. Overall, had a great experience and would highly recommend. The starter was very friendly and easy going. The starter shack is also where you pay since the course does not have a separate pro s…

Hidden gem for real golfers. This charming, quirky track is kept in great condition; is well run and welcoming; there’s always a robust breeze making it fun and defusing the heat; the layout is weird and tricky; and the views are spectacular. Too bad you have to drive into town for a beer after.

Fun nine hole course. Walking course, I think the price includes a pull cart. Several holes have water views. Close to Katherine Hepburn's house on the peninsula.

One of the oldest courses in Connecticut, it's a great golf challenge among some classical old homes. The views are awesome, the greens are small and conditions are great.

A beautiful location and a fun course to play, Fenwick is a great little local course to play 9 before or after work. The scenery and homes are gorgeous. It would be nice if it was a little less expensive considering there is no clubhouse nor golf carts . It would also be great if you could make a tee time more than 24 hours in advance. If these issues were addressed, Fenwick would be virtually destination golf.

Great course by the Long Island sound. Flat, easy to walk, greens have some real character. Glad we beat the rain.

The views of the sound and Fenwick community are wonderful. The course is just OK though. Except for the first hole the layout is a short par 35. Besides the views the holes are unexceptional. At $25 the course would be a good play but at $100 equivalent for 18 holes it is dramatically overpriced. I’m not sure if this is a municipal course but if it is Old Saybrook should be ashamed of pricing it so high. On the other hand I do enjoy playing there when I only can play 9 or when other courses are unavailable. I would like to be more positive but the price is a real problem.

My golfing partner and I had a 7:30 tee time today and when we got there the started told him he had to pay for his 14 year old son that has down syndrome, this has not been the case in the past, His son may take up to 10 swings and a few putts. It would be nice to have the starters all be on the same page. by the way Portland CC had not issues with his son.

Truly is a beautiful setting for a golf course surrounded by nice homes and great views. I had a 6:20 tee time and the sunset was awesome. However, the fairways were scorched brown and really hard. Seems to be the case for a lot of the grass around the area just observing people's front yards as I drive by them. I'm not sure if they have an irrigation system that spans the whole course but it didn't seem to be getting much water. I'd give it 5/5 if the fairways were in better shape. Maybe next time I'm in the area. Definitely still fun and a local gem.
