What People Say

In summary

The Club at Pelican Bay receives mixed reviews, with some visitors appreciating the friendly staff, challenging layout, and the convenience of an on-site restaurant offering good food and drinks. However, many reviewers express concerns about the course's condition, citing issues with the greens, bunkers, and overall maintenance, as well as occasional unfriendly service. While some acknowledge efforts to improve the course, others are disappointed by the slow pace of renovations and the lack of clear communication about temporary conditions.

Absolutely horrible experience here this morning. Showed up at 7:30 for a 7:50 tee time. Place looked abandoned and nobody was there. Someone showed up at 7:45 and started pulling carts out. He certainly wasn’t very friendly. Course was in laughable condition. Do not come here.

We continue to support Pelican bay country club. Tonight was our 4th visit. The waitresses and service were great. We’re in hopes that their executive chef revamps the menu very soon. If you create great dishes the people will come to eat. The beer is cold and the spirits were great.

I have been going to this Golf for three years, I admit that the first year in 2022, we were going to play there to pass the time before playing on much more beautiful courses. In 2023 the course had improved but still needed love. We felt that the intention of the team was to want to make this Golf like those great years. In 2024, we noticed an incredible amélioration, I leave some images that say it all. It is not perfect but the team deserves to have the 5 stars.

I am a resident of Pelican Bay and very much want to see this course succeed. The last time I played this course was the first day the new ownership took over in Jan 2025. Prior to that I was a member in 2021 and 2022 before joining another local golf club due to the declining conditions of this golf course. Today I played it again to give an honest assessment. Before reading this review it is important to acknowledge the new owners were handed a golf course that had been deteriorating steadily over a ten year period. There was much for the new owners to overcome and they have made a commitme…

If I could rate this course a zero I would. The entire course is a mess, sand traps haven't been touched in months with vegetation growing throughout all of them, greens are unputtable and haven't seen a mower in weeks (yes, they are sanded), and there is virtually no difference between the "fairway" and the rough. Save your money and find a better place to play.

For the money, it's really good. Came while on vacation. I had a 7:30am start time on Dec 30 and the course was empty. Managed to get a whole round in less than three hours. Most holes are lined with water on both sides, but fairways aren't super narrow either. Accuracy counts but its not impossible. Most greens were in decent enough shape. Cart paths, which were either non existent or well worn, were my only real negative, but not a big one.

Decent course, I think it was probably pretty sweet back in the day. Needs a little more upkeep, but I think they are working on getting it back. Some long holes (played the white tees), with lots of trouble if you slice or hook lol. Got it on TeeOff App for $17 with a cart (18 holes), which was a phenomenal deal.

If I could give this course a Zero rating, I would. Absolutely the worst golf experience of my life. Nowhere on their site do they mention that all greens are temporary greens. These temporary greens are unputtable. The course is in terrible condition. The driving range was closed. And the staff was rude, did not grant a refund for the course conditions when I returned my cart after 2 holes. The whole place reminded me of a cow pasture. I will never play there again even if there is significant improvement.

They aren't busy so you can get on easily and move through the course quickly. Not in great shape, but still enjoyed the layout. Good food at the bar and restaurant!

I played Saturday weather was very nice 82° in January. 😎 couse is challenging in some places . A couple Par 3s are really hard from the tips. I would definitely play it again for the price. Pace was excellent as there was noone else in front of me till the turn.

It's okay for what it is... an old public course. Staff is friendly and green fees are reasonable. Got behind a group of beginners so pace of play was very slow. An on course Marshall would have been nice.

Been there a few times and love it hoping more variety of food soon. Priced a little high. Hope it lasts so nice having a restaurant in the neighborhood
