In summary

Sweetbriar Golf Club is frequently praised for its well-maintained course, beautiful layout, and friendly, professional staff. The clubhouse and amenities, including dining options, are also highlighted positively. However, some visitors express concerns about the pace of play and the policy of pairing golfers with strangers, as well as noting that certain areas of the course, like the cart paths and tee boxes, could use improvement.

Sweetbriar Golf Course in Avon Lake, Ohio delivered one of the best golf experiences I’ve had in a long time. The course is beautiful, extremely well maintained, and has a great atmosphere that makes the entire day enjoyable. What really stood out to me, though, was one employee who completely changed my view of customer service and honesty. After my round, I realized I had accidentally left the keys to my Lamborghini Aventador — a car worth over $500,000 — along with my Rolex Cosmograph Daytona, valued at more than $30,000, in the storage compartment of the golf cart. My heart dropped the sec…

I had a GREAT experience at sweet briar. First, when I walked in I fell on my face right into the dirt and employee named Chase Penick helped me get up and was so nice. Next I went to the range and he came over and fixed my swing. Then I was playing my round and on the 9th hole Chase Penick showed up again and gave me food and water. This Chase Penick kid should get a raise immediately he is easily the BEST worker at this establishment. Finally after the round I asked him to clean my clubs and he cleaned them all perfectly. I have him a 100$ tip because he is such a good kid. I have a feeling…

It was just a normal day at the course until I got to hole seven where an alligator, jumped out of the water and lunged at my golf cart. It was a sad moment, but then out of nowhere Chase Penick hopped out of the bushes and wrangled the alligator. Truly, a moment that saved my life. Immediate pay raise

Had a great experience at Sweetbriar the two times I have played here. The course has a nice mixture of holes and was surprisingly well kept as far as the condition of the airways and greens go. The clubhouse is expansive and has great tasting food with prompt service.

Sweetbriar Legacy used to be the course to play now it should be the course to stay away from. $81 dollar tee times on weekends and pace of play issues consistently. Course condition has gone down hill quickly. Tee boxes are torn up and greens also. Used to frequent this course now, not anymore.

Overpriced course - has gone down hill in quality over the years, but the price continues to increase. Rounds take forever bc they try to squeeze as many groups in as possible. Hours aren’t correct for the pro shop either, so always call ahead to make sure they’re open.

The Legacy course is a very playable course with very generous fairways and greens that are not tricked out. Even on this wet day they were fast. The rough is even playable. You can play this course and not lose any balls as everything is cut. Very scenic and the houses are well back from the playing area. I deducted one star ad they need work on the cart path. Too many chuckholes and other areas that need repairs.

You should allow cross-country skiing during the winter for $10 bucks a person...and use golf carts to serve hot cocoa ($3), coffee with or without libations ($3-8), and gluvine ($8). Some of us would REALLLLY love it if you did. 😉😉🫡

Like the course, but stop going to Sweetbriar years ago because they force you to play with strangers. It’s the only golf course in Northeast Ohio that we play that makes you play with strangers by making sure it’s always a foursome that goes out. I golf to enjoy time with my wife or friends and I don’t need to spend those hours with someone I don’t know. I don’t have this problem with any other course that I play and that’s why I will never go back to Sweetbriar.

Little wet but for first time out this year couldnt be happier with the weather today. Heavy rain last night so fairly wet but still very playable, and fun to be on.

First time playing this course. The course is a nice atmosphere, relatively short with some periodic challenges. The course makes you hit golf shots, not one that you can just power through. Major issue with the pace of play and the fact that they pair you up with other groups. At the price they charge they should be allowing groups of two to play. It felt like they were maximizing tee times and groups at the expense of pace of play. No course ranger in site to keep play moving, we were jumped 3 times during our 1:30p round. That slowed pace even more. At 6:15p as we finished hole 16 we had e…
