Shining Rock Golf Club is praised for its challenging layout, well-maintained fairways, and stunning scenic views, making it a favorite among golfers seeking a test of skill. The staff is frequently commended for their friendliness and the amenities, including a restaurant with a pleasant outdoor seating area, add to the overall experience. However, some visitors express concerns about the pace of play and occasional maintenance issues, particularly with tee boxes and bunkers.

Very posh, upscale golf club! The course is challenging, with lush, breathtaking views. The restaurant is very nice and the outdoor covered patio is large with exceptional service and a wonderful menu. The patio overlooks the tee off on one side and the eighteen hole on the other side. Lush greenery on both sides. This is a golf club worth visiting.

I travel New England working on high end golf courses and this is right at the top of my list. First time playing there today and I have nothing but great things to say. Staff was super inviting and were extremely polite. Starter was a great guy with good conversation. Although i proceeded to play like I had never swung a club before the views and conditions could not have been better! Fairways and roughs were in amazing shape and the greens could not have been better. 5 stars truly. Great job I will be back!

My wife and I played this for the first time today. Challenging course at times, especially the 4th hole on the front 9. Definitely a course that makes you a better golfer. Good variety, good scenery being higher up, very friendly staff. Played 18 in 4 hours (Granted we were the first tee time of the day) - Highly recommend and will definitely go back!

It is a really well maintained course and the Par 3 is amazing. Apparently they got new owners because now the par 3 opens at 11:00am instead of 8:00am on Weekdays. I went to the par 3 almost everyday before work and I feel like a lot of people did. I hope they switch it back to 8:00am on weekdays they would make a whole lot more money

Really disappointed in the conditions. The greens were aerated 9 days ago, but they didn’t tell us until we got here (drive almost an hour to play here!) and the greens were covered in holes and sand and unplayable. Basically a waste of money. Rest of course was in “ok” shape. Will probably pass in the future. They did discount rounds because of it, but still basically $60+ to play an unplayable round is a joke.

Bring your A-game to Shining Rock or the course will leave you feeling frustrated. Challenging, greens, some unique holes with some forced carries and a beautiful setting. No easy par 3’s on the course and lots of trouble if you spray the ball. Tee boxes were a disappointment but that’s my only complaint and players unwilling to fix ball marks on the greens.

Has always been a nice course to play however on my last round there as a guest of a member I had a surprising and disappointing experience. I left my Thera gun in our golf cart and did not realize it was not in my bag until the next day. I called the course and was told "yes I think I saw it, let me look around". Never received a call back and later was told by my friend who is a member "its not there it seems like it walked away". In this day and age I am shocked that any employee working that day who saw it and realized it was clearly left behind in error did not turn it in to the pro shop.…

nice track. even seems to have kept it together through the brutal summer that ate a lot of other courses in the area alive. greens slick and tricky. could have used a ranger, didn’t see one all day and the group ahead was definitely slowing things down (cart gps says we finished 15 min off pace). some of the tee boxes banged up. good challenge, lots of tees for varying levels. probably the best bang for my golf buck i’ve had all summer. UPDATE 2022: dropping to 4. boxes worse, pace brutal on a Wednesday. (5 hours!) rakes are in carts which means lots of traps aren’t addressed. staff is frien…

Took 3 hours to play 9. Luckily only another 2 to play the back. Unfortunately, be aware that if you intend to play the white tees, they move them to the women’s tee location. The average par 4 was around 310 yards with most coming in under 300. This was also a major factor into the slow pace of play as every group thought they could drive the green on 4,6,7,10,11,14 and 17 . I would not recommend paying $80 for the twilight rate here, or playing at all if you want an enjoyable round.

Outstanding course. Conditions were amazing. From the Tee boxes fairways traps and greens top notch. The crew were friendly and helpful. This course presents a real challenge for any level of golfer.
