In summary

Pheasant Run Golf Course is appreciated for its budget-friendly rates, friendly staff, and enjoyable layout, making it accessible for both beginners and seasoned golfers. However, several visitors have noted issues with course maintenance, particularly concerning the condition of the greens and fairways, which some describe as overgrown and poorly kept. Recent efforts to improve the course have been acknowledged, but the overall condition remains a point of contention for many players.

I have a BS Professional Golf Management degree so I’m very familiar with Ohio courses and courses across the country. I haven’t played much golf in years due to increasingly horrid pace of play in Cleveland and the expected increases in cost. I was looking at potentially playing tomorrow, a Saturday at the end of May, and was sad to see the open availability and poor reviews at Pheasant Run. I walked 18 there last fall. Were the first couple greens diseased and fried? Yes. Were they the worst I’ve ever seen throughout the course? No. Were a few fairways covered in leaves? Yes. BUT it was onl…

The fairways and the rough are virtually the same. Worst greens I've seen and I've seen a lot. It was like putting in the outfield of a baseball field and that may be an improvement on some. One "green" was so dead I didn't even believe the flag was in the right place from 150 yards away. Pace was great for 9am on a weekend and as always the employees were really nice but this will probably be my last time here, I keep coming back every couple years thinking it has to be better but that has not been the case.

This course needs more mowers or manpower. This can be a pretty wet course so we waited for a long dry spell to play. There were three kinds of rough Unmowed rough - no chance of finding a ball Mowed rough - maybe a 50% chance Fairway - actually not quite - kind of a well mowed rough. The greens were like walking on a sponge and so slow it was impossible to putt your ball past the hole no matter how hard you hit it. It’s cheap not crowded so you can play a round quickly assuming you keep your ball in the “ fairway”.

2 stars is more like it but I'm pushing the 4 star agenda because I simply liked the layout. I liked the girls in the Clubhouse. I thought the food was good and reasonably priced. Me and my buddies played 27 holes here, and 1 day, we all kinda thought the greens were incredibly slow. But overall, like the course looks pretty clean. It is just really hairy everywhere, and I know they're trying to make it better, but just cut that stuff down and do anything you can to make the greens roll faster. The rates are pretty expensive. I paid $15 for my second 9 holes with my cart. And only $18 for my o…

This course is night and day from last year. The fairways are good. The greens are way better than last year. The rough is still a little rough but that's why they call it the rough. I attribute this more to the rainy weather and lack of help. They are hiring by the way if you are looking for work, a summer job, or nice retirement job. Overall you tell that the owners and management are making improvements and I look forward to seeing this course later in the year and next year. This is a great course to play for seniors and new golfers and a fun place to play as a more seasoned golfer. The cl…

This course has seen better days. Greens were about the worst I have ever seen. Fairways were ok. Rough made it difficult to find balls.

Booked a 7:30 tee time 4 days in advance and drove 40 minutes to the course. Only to find out they have a private event and the course is closed. Would of be nice to receive a phone call about the course being closed instead of finding out upon arrival.

Course is extremely under-kept. But they’re having staffing issues so I understand. But service in the club how is great! I just wish I wasn’t loosing balls in the fairway and the greens were so trash.

The worst golf course I’ve ever played at we get here and the price was $34 so we paid the price and after we paid she says we can only play the back 9 which $34 to play the back 9 twice IS RIDICULOUS so we try it out and tee off can’t tell the fairway from the rough and felt like we was hitting off concrete and the green had so much sand on it that our ball rolled 2 feet and dead stopped I’ve never played at a course that cost this much and looked this horrible so we tried getting a refund and nobody knows how to give a refund AND WE WAS THE ONLY GOLFERS ON THE COURSE not a another golfer in…

I wouldn’t give this course a one star, more like a 0 in my opinion. We had to replace our cart twice! You could never find your ball even in the fairway because it was extremely over grown. Everything just seemed very unkept. Huge disappoint and I will not be coming back.

The course is unfortunately unplayable. I have never seen greens even remotely close to as bad as these. Rotten carpet padding is the best I can use to describe the squishy feel, with huge ruts, sprawling dead areas, etc. The course has good bones and could be something special, but as it stands today shouldn’t be played by anyone.
