In summary
Pakachoag Golf Course is generally appreciated for its well-maintained greens, reasonable pricing, and friendly clubhouse staff, making it a good option for both beginners and experienced golfers. The course layout offers a scenic and enjoyable golfing experience, although some visitors have noted issues with the pace of play and the need for more golf carts. A recurring concern involves interactions with an older course ranger, which some find detracts from their overall experience.

Decent course for the money. But they need more golf carts. Went with a group of 4 and there were no golf carts or push carts so we ended up walking. Not the end of the world but won’t be going back for that reason

I don't golf but if I did I'd say this was a cool little local option. We were there to see the marker for Goddard's first rocket launch, which was easy to find. The people in the clubhouse were helpful and everyone there was super nice. Beware of flying golf balls.

Love playing here, but they need a new person on phones. Called today to get a tee time, was asked to book online or call back in 5 min. I was driving, so couldn’t book online. Called back after 5 min, got voice mail. Called back and got the RUDEST person on the other end saying she didn’t appreciate me calling back to back and I need to book online because she has a line out the door. I completely understand saturday’s get busy, but don’t take it out on the people that are trying to come and give your establishment business. We chose to book at another course.

To be fair we didn't golf here we came as space geeks in search of the launch site of the first liquid rocket by Robert Goddard. The man in the club house was accommodating and told us to hug the rocket wall on the short walk down to the monument. Also in the clubhouse you can see kids drawing honoring Goddard. The golfers were also happy to accommodate and talk a little space history with us. Do be mindful of which direction they're hitting and keep a cautious eye out for any incoming gold balls.

It’s a decent course but the issue is the sand traps are not really the right sand. It’s just like dirt. They should fix that and then fix some of the pathways on the course . The staff is fine . I think that it would be cool if they added more folding chairs for people waiting for defrost times. The rough could be thick but it’s like fairway. The greens are challenging and it’s not easy for beginners to meet par. Most will see double bogey

Course was decent for being a town run course. My issue is with the tee times and the other “older” golfing crowd. They say play should be no more than two hours for 9 holes. That works out to 13.3 minutes per hole. The tee times are 8 minutes apart. It is overbooked. I took my 12 year old here for his first time playing today. Trying to teach him the game. He was nervous about messing up. But I assured him the golfing community is supportive. At hole 5 ( we were a little over an hour. Not too crazy). The ranger comes up and says the groups behind us were complaining about slow play. We had a…

Nice 9 hole golf course

I played Pakachoag yesterday and the course was in excellent shape. In fact, the greens and rough around the greens were like a perfect carpet at a high-end private course, beautiful. The grounds crew is doing a great job (even better than prior years). The cost is reasonable and there are nice views on the course. There's a nice putting green and 2 nets to warm up on. The staff in the clubhouse were friendly and helpful. Good selection of drink and snacks. Too bad they don't offer beer and burgers. The only issue was a glacially slow foursome ahead of us, but we were able to play through and…

Really good condition for a local 9-hole muni. Pretty decent layout. Not crazy long with lots of elevation change. Nice practice area. The actual golf is great. I can't get over the unbearable pace of play. Approximately 2 hours 45 minutes for 9 holes after at 2PM. 2-4 groups deep on every tee box. The holes are mostly open off the tee and parallel, so there are loose drives flying everywhere, and I saw so much time is wasted carting around in circles looking for balls that would otherwise be OB. Seems to be a popular spot for inexperienced players, which is perfectly fine, but came with so…

How can you complain when there arent many 9 hole courses left around. Great value and still consistently in good shape, I would recommend giving it a try.

For as long as I can remember packachaug was the perfect course for beginners learning the game. Played on many of leagues here and never had issues. For some reason the old man ranger has a terrible attitude and wants to harass new golfers for not following the PGA handbook. Won’t be back until he’s gone…
