Oxbow Golf Course

If I could leave a -1 star review I would. I’ve played over 100+ courses and this course is quite literally the WORST one I’ve ever played. The pace of play is HORRENDOUS, it shouldn’t take a solo golfer 2hrs 51min play 9holes. The course itself is ATROCIOUS, it had just rained the night before but even in a 3year drought the course has terrible drainage, will always be a mud hole. You can’t tell the difference between the tee box, fairway, or rough. Might as well go play a round in a local pasture. I’ve seen better cart paths at an off road park. If I could give it zero stars, I would. I live 5 minutes away and I’ll never be back. To start with, the tee boxes and “fairways” looked like they hadn’t been mowed in weeks. Horrible conditions. But the real issue with this course is the people who play there. Hadn’t played there in a year and a half due to too many encounters with rude and entitled people. Decided to give it another shot. Played there 30 years ago as part of a golf package. We stayed at the Lafayette hotel in Marietta 2 nights( which was beautiful and didnt know at the time its haunted). Got there on Friday and it was raining. We all really wanted to play and they said we could but they wouldnt let us take out carts, we would have to walk. I dont blame them, It had rained hard for 12 hours. It finally turned to a drizzle. The next two days were beautiful and we had a great time. Saw deer on the course while we were playing. Lost very first ball on very first swing of my straightest , longest drive ever IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FAIRWAY! We lost every ball and my putter even in the very tall grass.

I’ve been having a great time golfing here for years. Course is well taken care of, staff is usually very friendly. Recently I went to play 9 holes and even tipped when I paid; I was shown nothing but disrespect from the older blonde woman behind the counter. I do not plan on returning.

Probably the most challenging layout in the valley -back 9 particularly. But fun course , greens are in great shape. One of my favorites to play..

They don’t care about anyone but the members !! The members get special treatment while others try to play but not allow. Worse place I’ve ever been treated like shit before. I would never ever recommend this place to anyone.

May 30, 2025 Greens were great. Cart paths were horrible. Sand traps were horrible, and unplayable. Tee boxes need some work. Overall the course was good.

This course is ran by fossils that only want people their age playing on the course. My group of 6 was banned from this course after joining together for the final 3 holes. We were asked to play in 2 separate groups, which we more than respected for the first 15 holes. On 16, 17, and 18, since we did not have anyone too close behind us, we joined together to finish our 2v2v2 scramble on the last 3 holes. The course is a nice course. The score is for carts. They finally got new carts. They needed them! Why get new carts if you're not going to keep them clean? Maybe it's just me, but I hate carts that have grass and mud/dirt all over them. I would give this course 5 stars if they would clean their carts!

Very disappointing course in awful condition. Fairways not mowed and full of weeds, bunkers mostly dirt with little to no sand, tee boxes have little grass. Greens in surprisingly good shape but that was the only positive. Allowed groups of five so play was slow. Would not recommend for anyone but a beginning golfer.

Had a tee-time of 730am and had to deal with lawnmowers for the whole 18 holes. Grass clippings were left on the greens and around the edges of the rough cut of the greens. Friendly staff and considerate players, but the fairways were like playing in the first cut all day. Good setup with some water and bunkers in strategic places. All tree lined which was great to see.
