In summary

Oaks National Golf Club is appreciated for its challenging layout with strategically placed water hazards and sand traps, offering a test for golfers of all skill levels. The staff is frequently praised for their friendliness and the club's affordability is a draw for many. However, there are consistent concerns about the course's maintenance, with reports of rough cart paths, uneven tee boxes, and some greens and fairways in need of attention. Despite these issues, the club's setting and value make it a popular choice for budget-conscious golfers.

I played a round here - for the first time - on New Year's Day 2026 with our son and two grandsons. We had originally planned to visit another course, but wildly expensive greens fees pushed us here. We had an incredibly enjoyable time (and the fees here on New Year's Day were less than half the other course)! The staff was very friendly and helpful, and renting clubs was an easy process. I should note I was a bit jealous of the left-handed set I rented - it was a significant upgrade over my personal set. The course itself was really nice - just open enough to let you stretch your driver, but…

To the new management/ownership team... KEEP DOING WHAT YOU ARE DOING!! We played a fantastic round of 18 on 12/30 and the course is in better shape than we have ever seen. I've played no less than 30 rounds here over the years... It's always something that kills the day, but the price keeps us coming back. As of yesterday, the course AND courteous staff is what will bring us back. Greens, bunkers, tee box, and a fair rough length are all SIGNIFICANTLY improved. Great job! Hoping that as you likely raise the rack rate, you'll strongly consider a local resident discount with proper ID. One mo…

The club was easy to find and pretty quiet, so we Tee'd off early, lots and lots of water obstacles, so make sure you either play the odds or bring spare got balls. Greens could be a wee bit better, but for the price we paid, genuinely happy with the course, enjoyed it despite the heat, but that's Florida in may! Bring plenty fluids, and maybe a bag of ice for the cart cooler,

Oaks National Golf Club is one of those courses you can tell used to be a really nice a long time ago. Unfortunately the course and clubhouse haven’t aged all that well. The course is a tale of two nines. The front nine is dominated by water hazards and questionable upkeep. The back nine winds through woodlands and nicer homes and is more enjoyable than the front. Overall, the course is in borderline shape with thick second cut, multiple diseased greens, and average at best tee boxes. I debated between 3 and 4 stars and It’s probably a good local track to play, but I’m not sure I would go out…

I spent a month in Florida (April 2024) and I had the pleasure of golfing numerous times at Oaks National. The online tee-time booking system and the informative website is really nice and convenient. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a smile and a good morning from either Julie, Michelle or Charlie. You couldn't ask for a more friendly group. They treated me like a member from minute one. The clubhouse is great, fully stocked with whatever you need. The course, overall, was good. Are some tee boxes a bit rough? Sure. Are some spots on the course needing a tad of attention? Sure.…

Played on Jan 1, 2036, and greens and tee boxes are in great shape. Very challenging course, so accuracy is more important than how far you are able to hit the ball. Highly recommend if you are ready to test your golf game and see how good you actually are.

This is a very nice layout, lots of challenges and you always need to manage your game, BUT BUT BUT, this course is in very vad shape, weeds growing on every greens, lots of seeding and grass treatment to be done, you can save it , with a good budget, staff and a real qualified leader. This course has everything to become a (MUST PLAY THERE COURSE) but please get to it ! You are going to lose it and it will cost you way more money to bring it back. Good luck !

This course is exceptionally rough. Most tee boxes not level with many undulations and are entirely devoid of grass. Fairways have massive bare patches with no grass. Green surrounds were rutted up mud, weeds, and very little grass. No rakes in any bunkers. Standing water in many bunkers with no recent rain. Many greens had large diseased and dead patches that were only sand and no grass at all. 4 to 6 of the greens had multiple dead streaks across the green where the greens mower had been leaking hydraulic fluid without being noticed. It’s really really sad to see this kind of neglect. This p…

I honestly love the layout of this course so much, especially hole 4 or 5 that sits parallel with the road, gets you real nervous about hooking it and really makes you lock in. My main gripe is the rough is so freaking thick, that you could watch your ball land fairway, roll slightly into the rough and it is absolutely gone forever. Impossible to find. If it wasn’t for this, I’d rate it a 5/5 just for price and layout alone.

The greens were in disrepair. Improving them would greatly improve the golfing experience. The conditions does not allow for Putting enjoyment. Management was friendly.

It seems that this is a course that needs a lot of TLC, as missing the fairway meant finding your ball in brutal rough became a bit of a lottery. There are also a lot of very sandy tees. The shame is that this is a course with a lot of nice holes, and the greens generally were running nicely. Playing here a few days after tropical storm Nicole, I imagine that a lot of the course has been too soft to maintain, but I'm not sure that's the whole story. There are a few holes that are fairly tight, and the 7th has little or no guidance on where the fairway is from the tee. I aimed at the tree and…

Good news. Management is more committed to keeping the pond algae free and I wish to give them credit for that. Early in 2024, some untimely spraying of nitrogen before a major rain washed into ponds and caused obvious environmental problems for wildlife, like this one by Hole 15. Fortunately it has been addressed since.
