In summary

Oak Hills Park Golf Course is frequently praised for its well-maintained greens, scenic layout, and friendly staff, making it a popular choice among both beginners and more experienced players. The course offers a visually appealing setting with challenging fairways and fast greens. However, some visitors have expressed concerns about the pace of play and the perceived unwelcoming attitude of the pro shop staff, which can detract from the overall experience.

My golf stay cation, playing the four corners of the state, concluded today in Norwalk at Oak Hills Park. The course is in great shape and the foliage was still beautiful. Unfortunately for me, I scheduled my vacation the week they aerated the greens, so they were still sandy. Fortunately for me, my partner and I agreed that ALL second putts were good! The staff was friendly and helpful. It was my honor to have been paired with Frank , who said he has played Oak Hills Park 300 times a year since he retired 20 years ago! Not only is he knowledgeable about the course and it's recent history, he…

First time playing here and really enjoyed it. It's a great course for beginners or intermediate players like myself. Fairways can be tight but very playable. The greens are challenging in that they are wavy and irregular, but nicely kept. The greenery, flowers, water and bunkers make it visibly pleasing. The lounge/restaurant looked great and the pro shop was nicely stocked.

Played 9 holes on a warm April weekday. Course is very hilly, so riding is a decent idea. Very well kept and challenging, but also fun. Great experience, will definitely be back soon!

No Veteran Discount 🇺🇸 A bit uppity here. The staff really think this course is more than it is. At 86$ with a cart the experience doesn't meet the price. Carts are in poor repair. Courses are decent but the rangers swarm around and do nothing about pacing. Sat in a line constantly waiting to tee off. Could go a little bit more up the parkway and find better.

Played today a nearly 6 hour round. Ranger kept coming around telling our group to keep pace when the group ahead made us wait 5-10min at every tee box. Never saw the ranger go to them at all. Either they were regulars with 20+HC with some sort of privilege or the ranger had issues with non-white folk (my group). Greens were nice so giving that an extra star, but the experience with the ranger left us feeling somewhat annoyed.

God, I love it here so much... but this place needs some work. Greens are tough, but very well-kept. Staff are quite friendly (probably because I'm a junior), though I have been restricted from playing the back tees exclusively because one certain team member thinks I'm not good enough for them. The sad thing is, I'm a ~20 HCP and I'm better than a decent amount of people who play here. The lack of courtesy from many is pathetic, and rangers do little to deal with it. Unfilled divots, rough tee boxes, unraked bunkers, broken tees left on the boxes. Odeen's is AMAZING. Halfway house leaves a li…

The pro shop staff was not friendly at all. I expressed interest in course souvenirs since I have not been back to Norwalk in 10 years. No assistance whatsoever. The course is in great shape and greens are smooth.

Oak Hills is an excellent golf course. It has a great layout with fairways and greens that are very well kept. The staff keeps the pace moving along nicely. In particular, Tim and Jd are both top notch, courteous-professionals. I Look forward to playing here for many seasons to come.

I understand there are limited public golf courses in the Norwalk/Stamford area, but I would recommend skipping this one and going elsewhere. During our round, at least three rangers drove by to check on our pace of play, which left our group feeling pressured rather than relaxed. The Pro Shop staff also gave off an unwelcoming vibe, treating us more like an inconvenience than valued customers. At $86 with a cart, the experience just doesn’t match the price—especially when there are neighboring public courses that offer a friendlier atmosphere and better value.

Oak Hills is great value. The layout has some quirks but it presents a good challenge. The course is kept in overall very good condition for how much traffic it sees. On the positive side, the greens are kept in better shape than any other public course in the area. For the cons, the sand and a few of the Tees need some work.. Update 2025 - The majority of bunkers and a number of the tee boxes were redone over the off-season and they are a huge improvement. The course is in great shape!

A solid good experience all around. Well maintained and a great layout, but is short in length. Enough challenge still exists to make it fun for intermediate and advanced players ( depending on pin placements and chosen tee box ). Can be pricey - like most every course has become. Real nice beautification efforts are present. Definitely give this place a try, the staff does a great job.

Interesting track. No driving range is a bumber, but what it lacks it makes up with a tight front 9 with challenging fast greens! The starter Brian is friendly and knowledgeable. Front nine is strictly for your irons if you want to score. 10-18 you can use driver/3wood. Nice walk, nicely maintained with work being done on a number of Tee boxes.
