In summary

Mount Dora Golf Club is praised for its unique elevation changes and well-maintained greens, offering a scenic and enjoyable experience uncommon in Florida. The staff is noted for being friendly and accommodating, and the course provides good value, especially with discounts for veterans. However, some visitors have experienced slow pace of play and issues with equipment rentals, and there are occasional concerns about maintenance and course management.

Probably one of the coolest courses I have ever played, the insane elevation changes brings so much life to the course which is very uncommon in Florida. However every green is like a turtle shell, very frustrating how if you don’t hit the middle of the green your ball will roll off. However this is by far the coolest and most beautiful course I have played.

A typical municipal course with a few holes that have dramatic elevation change. Albeit a little on the short side, I enjoyed myself Most of the holes are narrow, but another fairway is right behind the trees on either side on most holes. The course conditions were good, but keep it in the fairway or you may never find your ball. Both the tee boxes and greens were good but not great condition. Overall it’s a good course for your average golfer to have a good round.

Ok it's not a bad course the greens were really nice. The T boxes need some attention. 44 dollars with a cart not bad. Here's my complaint so beware! My son was in town and rented clubs. I reserved him a set when I made the reservation. $30 to rent! It wasn't even a full set. No 7 iron had 3,5,9, driver 3 wood I think a hybrid 5. We asked that's it! They said yep that's it! She did steal a 7 iron out of another set! That was a rip off for sure they should have charged maybe 10 dollars

This golf course was absolute blast—and an incredible value. At times, it hardly feels like you’re in Florida… until you glance around and see the beautiful old trees draped in classic Spanish moss, reminding you exactly where you are. The staff was warm and welcoming, and the course itself is clearly well cared for—especially the greens, which were in fantastic shape. There’s a great sense of respect here, almost like an unspoken golfer’s honor system. Everyone seems to genuinely care about the game and about keeping the course in great condition, which makes the experience even better. Whi…

Course is in the best shape that I've ever seen it. Greens are fantastic and slick today (10/30/25). Really neat, locally historic course reminiscent of a Donald Ross layout. Great value!

What a hidden gem. Definitely one of the nicest local courses I have played in Central Florida. Lots of changes in elevation, the greens were well kept, and the course was wide open and allowed for quick play. Will assuredly be back for another round.

The pace of play keeps it at a solid 3 stars. I didn’t use the practice facilities. The cart was older but fine. No GPS, but it did have USB connections. More than a few of the tee boxes need leveling. The fairways were fine, though at times you didn’t know where they stopped and the rough started. The rough was basically what ever grass happened to be growing. The traps looked fine, but l didn’t land in any (OMG!). The greens are small, and really fast. Surprised me. It’s a quaint short course (5700 yds). It actually has hills and palm trees. The old men though play it like it’s 7700 yards. I…

We played as a two-some around noon on a Saturday, as did many other groups. We finished the front nine in less than 1.5 hours. Then, for some reason, the back-9 was all jammed up. We waited at most tee boxes for at least five minutes and then another 2-3 minutes on each fairway shot from holes 10-15. THEN the real problem occurred. When we were playing No. 15 we noticed eight carts (four groups) lined up at the No. 16 tee. How could this possibly happen?? All we could guess was that there were at least two four-somes that must have jumped from No. 5 on the front-9 to No. 16. Anyway, we had a…

Was not disappointed. Played this morning following a significant downpour. Course drained very well. Definitely holds true to it being an "Old Course". Clubhouse had some wear to it. Pro shop was severely understocked. Whether that was by choice or a result of logistics crawling nowadays, I do not know. Found out there was no driving range, but we weren't looking to use it anyways. I believe the course should definitely hold itself to a higher standard, however. Conditions were fantastic. The links-style, municipal layout of the course was very challenging yet enjoyable. Greens were rolling a…

Really cool and challenging course. Mainly straight fairways with some fun elevation changes. Fair prices as well with emphasis on veterans. Highly recommend checking this place out
