In summary

Moundbuilders Country Club, also known as The Trout Club, is highly praised for its stunning venue, making it a popular choice for weddings and events, with many appreciating the attentive staff and beautiful indoor/outdoor spaces. The food receives mixed reviews; some guests rave about the dishes, while others express dissatisfaction with certain menu items and service speed. Accessibility concerns are noted due to the hilly terrain and older building structure, which may pose challenges for some guests.

Great drive over. We didnt overnight, we only went to eat. The food was delicious. The big table accommodated our party of 10, it was outside under a fan that kept us cool, and we were able to watch the golfers. Would be a great place to take a date for lunch, then travel to hocking hills for a hike!

We ate in the restaurant very good experience before Covid and happy memories but food for many of our party was terrible. The fish was not good plates were not hot and the artichoke dip was very salty it was my main dish I and could not eat half of it. Waitress was very attentive and kind did serve food across the table which is a no no with waiter training we had in times gone by. Skip and choose somewhere else with hot food and better chef.

Where do we even start on this amazing wedding venue and team! Everything was flawless - from initial booking through the end of our event. The grounds are gorgeous and offered the perfect indoor/outdoor blend for our big day. We fell in love as soon as we saw it and knew this was the place we wanted to get married. As all of the other reviewers have highlighted - when you book the Trout Club, you also get the best wedding coordinator in the business, AMANDA. She and her team are fun, kind, organized and professional. We didn't have to lift a finger or worry about a thing. Our guests haven't s…

I truly cannot recommend The Trout Club enough for weddings! It's a STUNNING venue. The getting ready rooms are great and have a ton of natural light for photos. The wedding coordinator, Amanda, is wonderful to work with and was on top of the weather all day. The Trout Club has an amazing outdoor and indoor space. I truly love it and cannot wait to be back!

We came for New Years dinner with friends and our meal was okay but it wasn't worth $72 a plate. The lobster tail didn't have butter or lemon on it and there wasn't enough meat in the tail plus it was very chewy. The service was okay but our waitress would be gone long periods of time. The guy playing music was great but it was really loud and we couldn't hear each other talk. I thought it was just going to be soft acoustic because that is what I was told on the phone. We usually get great service and food but not this time. But the bartender down stairs was really great and he was very inform…

Stay away from this restaurant! YUCK!!! This was the worst experience we have had in years. We had a party of 8 and the restaurant was empty. The service was slow, the food took over ONE HOUR to get to our table and three people had to send food back because it was cold or just tasted awful. The scallops were cooked horribly, no sear at all…the fried chicken was gross and dry. Whatever chef created this menu does not know what they’re doing. The combinations of flavors for dishes is absurd. Who puts something blueberry with fish. Pineapple risotto, are you kidding me? The scallops were so disa…

Went here to eat with some friends. I had the the scallop and watermelon dish and oh my goodness, it was probably the best thing I have ever ate! I have eaten my fair share of seafood, but this puts everything else to shame. Hats off to the Chef. I will be back for that dish! The inside of the restaurant was really cool too.

Brunch service was fantastic even for our large group of 13 people, Xavier handled us all super well and was extremely friendly and helpful! Food all came out at the same time, fresh, hot and delicious! First time having Trout Club brunch and I know we will be returning!

Our experience at The Trout Club for our wedding was nothing short of magical. Every single aspect of our special day was flawlessly executed, exceeding our highest expectations. The team at The Trout Club went above and beyond to ensure that everything was perfect. Amanda Reynolds - she makes this happen. Her and her assistant were the best thing since sliced bread! From the moment we first connected with Amanda and the staff at the Trout Club, we were impressed by their professionalism and attention to detail. They were incredibly responsive to all of our questions and needs, making the pla…

The Trout Club has become our “go to place” to celebrate holidays and family events. Chelsea and her team always provide very friendly, prompt service and she goes above and beyond being attentive and making sure we are well taken care of. The food is always perfectly prepared; whether it’s traditional holiday fare (i.e. Thanksgiving turkey or Easter ham) or their delicious appetizers and entrees. Their prime rib is one of the best I’ve tasted and they have a great selection of salads, sides and desserts. I highly recommend visiting them for your next family brunch, lunch or dinner. We made re…

It is hard to describe how over the top perfect this location was for a wedding. With Amanda, the wedding coordinator for the Trout Club, leading the way, nothing could go wrong...AND IT DIDN'T! It was pure perfections from the moment the contract was signed until the final guests left the venue at the end of the reception. I had no idea this type of caring and customer service still existed. Working closely with the bride and groom, Amanda made sure every little detail was addressed and then executed flawlessly. The service, the food, the timeline, the beauty of the venue, the decorations,...…
