In summary

Burning Tree Golf Course is appreciated for its friendly staff, challenging layout, and picturesque setting, with many visitors enjoying the unique features like the Mastodon exhibit and virtual golf machines. However, some golfers have noted issues with course maintenance, such as patchy greens and dry fairways, and occasional unpleasant odors due to the nearby dairy farm. Additionally, the lack of clear signage and slow pace of play during busy times have been mentioned as areas for improvement.

Had an excellent round of golf today and the staff are super friendly. Lisa made sure me and my buddies were taken care of and was a pleasure to talk to in the club house while we waited out some rain. The odor of manure is what it is...the course is next to a dairy farm after all. Overall we had a fun time on the course and will be bavk again!

Nice course. Picturesque settings. Not sure if we just went on a bad morning but the smell on a few of the holes was atrocious. Have played before and will definitely play again.

Very nice little facility. 1st time ever at this course. Really liked the layout, greens were small, but accessible. I just putted like garbage. I will definitely be back in the spring

It's not a bad course. Greens were in great shape. Clubhouse bathrooms need a really bad update. Lol. I played the back 9. And if you haven't played here before, be prepared to get lost. There is not much signage as to where the next hole is. 1 thing I did like is the greens are pretty challenging. With some major major slopes. Over all fun course.

We've played this course numerous times over the year and each time it's a little different but that what's what the game needs to keep it interesting. Yes there's goose feces on the course as with nearly every golf course in the US, move on its not that bad. They're extremely busy on the weekends early morning like most courses in the area. Played it Sunday morning and my son got his first chip-in from 71 yards out on hole nine not to shabby for his first year golfing. Keep up the good job grounds keepers. If you get the chance check out the exhibit that make this coarse famous. They have 3 v…

Our family played Mastodon Golf Course yesterday and unfortunately was disappointed. The layout is awkward and didn’t flow very well, we got lost trying to find hole 2. The fairways were in rough shape and the greens need quite a bit of attention, as many were patchy and in poor condition. I can see the potential for this to be a fun course with more care and maintenance, but as it stands, it was not a great experience. Hoping to see improvements in the future!

Front 9 is in dreadful shape. Back 9 is decent. The new gps carts can shut off way to aggressively if you get off the cart path. Saw several people pushing them or you have to reverse forever. They should have invested in greens maintenance over these carts. Much batter options for the money in the area. I won't play there again.

They have a great display featuring a casting of the Mastadon they found on the course, as well as many life size dinosaur figures with awesome detail. Just go to the club house and ask. No charge, so please play or at least get some lunch and drinks!!

We visit this course at least once, sometimes twice a week. We like that there are plenty of Par 5's to keep it interesting. They keep the place clean. We LOVE the staff and the best hot dogs ever!!!

I try my best to like Mastodon - it is close, convenient, and a nice layout. However, the course conditions have not been ideal for the price recently. Algae is completely covering most ponds. Fairways, tee boxes, and around tee boxes really could use mowed a bit more. While the course did an excellent job of repairing damage where someone poisoned the greens last year, there are still sections of some greens that are completely dead (not even just brown grass, almost like rock hard dirt with a ton of cracks). The cart paths are quite old too and definitely need a bit of work (not like anybody…

Very nice course with some of the most challenging pin locations (especially hole 1) I’ve had the pleasure of playing. The fairways layout paired with my slice meant I spent a lot of time playing one fairway over on at least 3 holes! The 18th green was a special place of frustration or joy depending on your game. Friendly staff and overall a very pleasant experience!

i do have a membership, nice course for the money. price is similar to other courses in the area. I play maybe 4 times a week. I do avoid weekends seems to be more first time players than. many just don't know golf ediquette. Not crazy about golf cart tech, have had carts not start on cart path 2x times. Most of all the staff vary nice
