In summary

Mallard Creek Golf Club offers a spacious 36-hole facility with a functional layout and friendly staff, making it a popular choice for events and outings. However, many visitors express concerns about course maintenance, citing issues with greens, fairways, and tee boxes, as well as the need for updates to the clubhouse and cart areas. Additionally, the course often experiences slow pace of play due to tight tee time spacing.

Mallard Creek just punched its ticket as the worst course I’ve played this year—maybe ever. I’ve played numerous courses around Northeast Ohio, and none of them were this devastating to play on. This 36-hole, wide-open layout offers a couple of practice greens, a driving range, and a decent clubhouse. On the surface, the lakes and streams make the course look appealing, but looks can be deceiving. First off, the tee boxes (white tees) were a nightmare. They were patchy and even muddy in some spots, clearly neglected. It was hard to tee up without feeling like my feet were uneven, which made f…

This is a big golf facility, and having 36 holes really does make it feel like a full scale operation rather than just a typical local course. Overall, the layout is very functional and easy to navigate, and the clubhouse setup makes sense for handling a steady flow of golfers. Check in is straightforward, getting to the first tee is simple, and the whole place feels like it was designed to move people efficiently. My main concern is the tee time spacing. Their tee times feel very aggressive, and it seems like they often fall behind once the general public pace of play kicks in. With a wide r…

I recently teed off at Mallard Creek Golf Course in Columbia Station, Ohio, during the legendary "Red White and Brew" golf outing. And let me tell you, it was less a golf tournament and more a masterclass in organized fun – seriously, kudos to whoever wrangled that many happy golfers into one place! We tackled "The Woods" course, which, thankfully, lived up to its name by mostly keeping my wild shots out of the water (unlike my usual performance). The course was in fantastic shape, proving that even nature can look good with a little effort. Its dynamic layout was pretty clever, managing to be…

Gave this course a try today and before I even hit my first tee shot I knew it was a massive waste of time and money. $32 for nine holes on a an extremely poorly maintained course. Enormous tire ruts throughout the fairway on every hole, the rough was consistently 6 inches deep. Good luck finding your ball if you don’t hit the torn up “fairway”. Tee times are 7 minutes apart so have fun waiting 15 minutes on each tee box. Front nine took 3.5 hours. The “pro shop” is staffed by kids that never learned how to talk to people. Trains come through every 5 minutes blasting their horns. If you’re loo…

Decent course with 4 different 9 holes. The course is almost always backed up on the weekend so plan for 1-2 hours added to your typical time. Starters do nothing about it and don’t seem to even care. Overall - play at your own risk

Great course with a great pace of play. Everyone is always friendly in the clubhouse including rangers and starters. For those new to the course there are a total of 36 holes. When booking you can choose either "woods" or "lake." Both offer a great variety in challenging situations, making club and shit selection intriguing. Personally I enjoyed "lake" more. If you are looking for somewhere new I recommend this location.

August 2021: I attended a charity golf event here and had a blast. The staff were friendly and very attentive to our needs. The grounds were beautiful and the 36 holes were not too challenging for a novice golfer such as myself. Pros: * Friendly staff. They kept me supplied with ice. * Beautiful, expansive golf course with 36 holes and growing. * Picnic grounds were adequate for a lunch setup. There were grills available to use. Cons: * I only saw only saw one refrigerated golf cart with drinks for purchase. On the hotter, humid days one may not be enough for all golfers if courses are busy.…

The 3 star is relative to course maintenance and facilities. Needs millions to renovate but would increase greens fees. Also thank you to golfer BB and all the pro v1 balls I find. It was like playing for free!

Had to wait for carts. Took about 2.5 hrs to play through 9 waiting on people. No hot dogs because of said wait. Terrible experience

The course is in absolutely terrible shape. Every single green we saw was completely scorched. Huge holes in several of them—like someone just scooped a shovel full of dirt out of the green. Even the practice green was in terrible shape. Every tee box was so dry and hard that you almost needed a hammer to get your tee in the ground. I’ve been several times before and this is by far the worst it’s ever been. It’s like they’ve either forgotten that sprinklers exist, or they’re just abandoning the course because they know they’re gonna sell it.

This was one of the most frustrating and infuriating golf experiences I’ve ever had. We came out to Mallard Creek with a group of six—yes, a 6-some—which, by the way, was no different than the group in front of us. They had six women also playing together, moving at a snail’s pace, chatting up the cart girl, and holding up every hole. We were waiting constantly, couldn’t hit, and the pace of play was completely out of our control. But instead of addressing that group—or anyone else—the ranger comes flying up to us and immediately starts cussing. Not even a polite warning or explanation. Just…

8/9/25 - played the Lakes and the conditions were the best I’ve ever seen from this course. Near perfect greens, green fairways, etc. it was IMPRESSIVE! Great job to whoever has been working hard.
