In summary

Dorlon Golf Club, now a new park, is appreciated for its scenic walking trail that offers opportunities for birding and wildlife viewing, with a mix of paved and gravel paths. Visitors enjoy the natural setting with ponds and diverse flora and fauna. However, some have raised concerns about the presence of ticks, especially for those walking with dogs, and the limited number of trails available.

Almost a mile and a half , looped trail. A little muddy in spots. Nice ponds, Great place to walk the dogs. Parking lot (muddy) will hold about 15 cars,

What a great new reservation in Columbia Station! It’s still maturing and will probably be even better in a few years, but a wonderful place for birding & wildlife watching. On my last visit (an early morning in July), I encountered 40+ bird species and at least a dozen Eastern Cottontail rabbits…super cute! Other reviewers have mentioned ticks, but I’ve visited several times and haven’t encountered any (I wear plenty of bug spray and stick to the center of the trail as much as possible though). Opened in Summer 2024 a new park. Half the trail is a paved road the remainder is crushed limestone. Will improve as nature takes it's course.

The amount of ticks here was absolutely insane. Between both of my dogs I pulled 30+ ticks off of them, and also had ticks on myself after only walking about 25 minutes.

Pretty short trail. They should add more trails, especially thru the “back nine” beyond the old clubhouse, as well as the north side of the service road. I flushed a large 8pt buck and a couple fawns.

We took our dogs for a walk there on Saturday and they had a number of ticks on them before we even returned to the parking lot. Don't think I'd walk there again even without the dogs.

This relatively new park features a nice walk through open habitat with tall trees, scrubby bushes, and lots of wildflowers and tall grass. There's a small pond, too! An excellent place to be serenaded by Song Sparrows, Common Yellowthroats, and Indigo Buntings. The complete walking loop is 1.5 mi, including the parking lot connector, roughly half gravel and half paved. It's wide, flat, and even. Yes, I'm sure there are ticks in the grass, this is Ohio, but now that the paths are complete you can easily just stay out of the grass, and you won't see any. Since the park is relatively new, ther…
