Lake Bess Country Club is appreciated for its friendly staff, affordability, and well-maintained 9-hole course, which offers a variety of challenges suitable for both beginners and experienced golfers. The course is described as peaceful and conveniently located, with a small but adequate practice area. However, some visitors have noted issues with the condition of the greens and tee boxes, as well as occasional conflicts with other players regarding pace of play and course etiquette.

I was introduced to the game over 30 years ago when I was employed as a builder of courses in Massachusetts. It wasn't until a new friend showed me actual rules of game and how to swing a club did I actually become addicted.... I love the game and at 58 found the sport for me. Lake Bess has now become my home away from home... Thank you and God Bless to all of you who have made my golfing experience a JOY... TODD SWENOR

My sisters boyfriend and I went and played 9 holes at this golf course and on our 7th hole some fellows started telling us to get a move on behind us so we did and while we were playing hole 8 they started cussing at us we didn't say anything back and on hole 9 we got stopped by one of the ladies that was at the pro shop saying we got called on for playing the holes more than once which was not true. We had a new golfer and was working on his swings so we were playing a little slower. The lady at the pro shop said she did not care that the men's league older gentleman were cussing at us and th…

Great little nine hole golf course. My eight year old daughter and I play there when we can. Affordable and quiet and good for an early morning round.

Really bad course , greens are inconsistent, muddy, I can pay the same amount of money down the road for a way better course

The course is in really good shape. Busy but moving along at a good pace of play. Friendly staff. We enjoyed our round very much. Watch out for hole 7!

I have played here twice. I great enjoyed it both times. The course is short but in good shape. It is punishing if you don’t keep it in the fairway. It’s a great price for what you get. I will play it again when I am in the area.

I really enjoy playing here at Lake Bess when I come down in the winter months to visit family. This course is very reasonable in terms of cost. Staff is very friendly! Course is in great condition! At times there are areas that get pretty wet, so make sure you bring your ball retriever! Does get busy here, but early morning tee times work really well!

We loved coming to this little course and telling people about it. We liked the pro shop staff. Jim was good with us both. My first bad experience was the men’s league accusing my husband of not paying for his drinks. He was so upset by the accusation he almost never went back and always brought his own pop or bought in the pro shop because of being accused from then on. Then I went golfing with him, we were yelled at by a staff member that we were supposed to be done by 7 which they had not told us. Again ignored because my husband loved a lot of the men he golfed with. The last time I golfed…

A fun little golf course. Very Very short in yardage, but still challenging as it offers a variety of shots and approach angles to the hole. Great little golf course to blow off steam after work. Only 9 holes, so it takes about an hour and a half maybe 2 hrs to complete. Only 12 bucks a round in the summer. I think it jumps up to 18 in winter which is not bad for having a round of golf and a cart.

I have always loved Lake Bess. Have played there many times over the years. Staff is friendly and it's a great little 9 hole course! My only issue is that lately, prices have increased but quality has gone down. Tee boxes and greens are a mess! Green on the par 3 third feels like you are putting on the moon because of so many craters! Also, I am upset that they got rid of the water coolers on 4 and 7. I used to love grabbing an ice cold cup of water. Not anymore! If this is due to Covid, well maybe wake up and see that's not really a thing anymore!
