In summary

Hills Heart of the Lakes Golf Club is widely praised for its well-maintained course, scenic layout, and friendly staff, with many highlighting the course's excellent condition and beautiful setting in Southern Michigan. The course is noted for its challenging yet enjoyable design, offering a mix of tight fairways and undulating greens. While most reviews are positive, some golfers mention issues with slow play and the inability to play the back nine without committing to a full 18 holes. Overall, the club is considered a hidden gem with reasonable rates and a welcoming atmosphere.

I arrived without a tee time looking to play 18 holes. Single golfer must be a challenge for starters. Not so. A very warm welcome from a lady who turned out to be the owners' daughter. The front 9 is busy but quieter later on. I'll put you out on the back 9 first. The course was in fantastic condition. A real tribute to hard working green keeping staff. The real shame was the number of pitch marks on otherwise immaculate and speedy greens. Shame on ignorant and lazy golfers who could not be bothered to repair their pitch marks. Unlikely they had the skilll to be spinning the ball back so almo…

Short course if you hit them straight you can score. Excellent condition and superbly maintained. One of the most beautiful courses in Southern Michigan.

A beautiful course in Brooklyn Michigan. So short that at 70 years old I played the back tees (White). 5472 yards. Par here is 34/35-69. No slope rating given. Very tight and rolling, you wont get many flat lies here. Manage your game and the course. I left the driver in the bag most of the day and managed an 84 round. Undulated greens break every which way. Very scenic course, fairways are excellent. One of the only problems I had is that I could not enter my GAM score after the round because it has not been rated in the last 10 years per the GAM/USGA standards. Other than that, staff was ver…

I live in North West Ohio. There isn't a course near me that is taken care like this course. Greens and fairways are incredibly. Club house isn't fancy but has good food and very nice people taking care of you. At a very reasonable price. Definitely a hidden gem!!

If you like a well maintained course, play here. Not overly difficult, but I still haven't parred it! Nice little bar, too!

Hello, The golf course was very nice. Greens were well kept, tee boxes were also well kept, the staff was very friendly and kept things clean. The golf carts were nice and the course was fun to play. They even had water at some of the holes for the golfers. Only thing that was bad was golfers were very slow. But I will be going back. Would recommend to anyone.
