In summary

Grand Lake Golf Course is frequently praised for its stunning mountain views, well-maintained course, and friendly, helpful staff. The course layout offers a mix of challenges with both wide and narrow fairways, appealing to golfers of various skill levels. However, some visitors have noted issues with green conditions, inconsistent staff communication, and high prices for food and play, which detract from the overall experience for a few.

Love the crew that works here! They greet you with smiles and awesome energy to start the round! The course is always in good shape and the pace of play is never an issue.

Tee to Green is challenging from the tips, but trust yourself. Highest elevation is 8,550 on a par 3. Elevated tee boxes, blind green shoots, decent driving range and putting green, very narrow, breakfast and cart girls only on the weekends. Make sure you know when they are cutting grass on the range because they closed the range the day we went and that definitely made the day a lot tougher without a warm up. Some greens weren’t looking to best, sandy or seedy. Views were fantastic but we had to look passed all the burn, very happy this course didn’t get touched by the fires a few years back.

$140 dollars for a municipal level golf course is a joke. Charging full price for a course with a temp green and dead spots all over the fairways and greens. Only good part was the views.

These greens were in terrible condition. One had a tarp over it and we played on a fairway green. The staff was very rude and I would never pay $140 for a course this trash.

Day two of a two-day golf trip and we could not have ended it on a better course in the area. Grand Lake Golf Course is a links style course with spectacular views in spite of the burned trees from previous fires. Some holes have wide fairways, others not so much. This course will make you think about your drive and your approach if you play the tees appropriate for your handicap. I liked the helpful hints for each hole on the scorecard. Staff was friendly and the pace of play was better than expected. The only area for improvement is to have a Ranger on the course ensuring pace of play;…

Amazing sledding hill! Fun for the whole family. It’s free and they even provide tubes but also allow you to bring your own sleds. Their hot chocolate in the clubhouse is the best.

Excellent day on the course! First time I’ve played since the big fire changed the landscape forever. Gone is the cathedral of lodgepole pines that lined every fairway and now it’s a wide open 360 view of the surrounding mountains. Nice clubhouse with a full pro shop and bar/ grill. Friendly staff and the head pro Jeff is a great guy. (And a good teacher too!). A fun and challenging course!

Staff was unfriendly. Food was very expensive. Hot dog for $10 breakfast burritos for $15. Large soda for $6. Food was not very good. Drink cart was scarce. I understand the short season but lower the price or upgrade the quality. Golf course was in good shape so no complaints there.

Absolutely love this course! Grand Lake Golf Course is a hidden gem nestled in one of the most beautiful mountain settings you’ll ever play. The views are stunning, the course is in great shape, and the vibe is relaxed yet professional. What really makes this place special is the staff. Don, Ted, Jeff, and Rocky go above and beyond to make every visit a great experience. They’re friendly, welcoming, and genuinely care about the players. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, they treat you like family. Can’t recommend this course and crew enough—five stars all the way!

Great area with some good beginner cross country terrain. We rented some skis and had a great afternoon. Their rental and trail use prices also went down after 1:30pm. Other highlights are there’s a bar and there’s a free sledding hill!

This course was absolutely beautiful. It was extremely well-kept, and the natural mountain landscape was utilized extremely well in the design. Don't let the "recreation center" name fool you into thinking this is a tyoical municipal course. It offers top-notch golf with some of the best views you'll find on a course.
