In summary

Edgewater Golf Club is frequently praised for its scenic and well-maintained course, featuring a challenging yet fair layout with beautiful views and a variety of hole designs. The amenities, including a modern clubhouse, friendly staff, and practice facilities, enhance the overall experience. However, some visitors have noted occasional issues with course conditions, particularly on the greens, and have experienced delays in play due to scheduling or maintenance challenges.

A special place for a special occasion. Elegant but causal. Quite atmosphere, enjoyable. Food was a little slow coming out and I would have preferred mine to gave been a little warmer. Nothing is perfect, so I gave it 4 stars. Looking forward to returning. They are closed on Mondays and Tuesday

Somewhat of a hidden gem. Excellent course that is perfectly maintained, and has some of the best greens I've played in South Carolina. The course has a great blend of challenging and forgiving hole layouts. It is a must-play course at the price point.

Great day today here, had a blast. First time playing Edgewater and really loved the course. Tee boxes and greens need a little love but overall worth the drive from the Charlotte area to play, as good or better than the best public golf in Charlotte. Awesome clubhouse and practice area with some Trackman stations. Stay after your round for a drink and some food. Pizza was delicious.

Tough course folks. It will challenge you. Most fairways lined with trees on both sides. Some fairways tilt right, to the detriment of a slicer or fader. You hit the fairways, but it rolls off the right side into the rough or trees. Several scenic holes help ease the frustration. Remember, your not working! Prices are fair. Staff is nice. Good food at "The Turn" snack bar. And good food and beers at "Brickwood" restaurant after your round. Make a day of it, you won't have any regrets, unless you take too many mulligans.

Great course in phenomenal shape. The course consists of Bent grass greens, Bermuda grass fairways, and clean brilliant bunkers. There is a driving range and putting green as well. The golf carts are gas powered. The cart paths are very wide and are concrete throughout the course. Each hole is marked clearly with the distance on nice stone pillars. The course meanders through scenic surroundings, tucked right in nature. There are beautiful views on every hole. The lake can be seen on a couple of holes. The course is friendly and challenging. Mike is a very kind member of the staff! Great job…

I really like the Edgewater layout. All the holes keep you interested. It is challenging, yet not unfair. There are uphill holes and downhill holes, doglegs, and well placed bunkers. The fairways were in good shape for late May and the greens ran very true. The staff was extra friendly, and a pleasure to deal with. August '25 update: New clubhouse and restaurant are now open. The crispy chicken and waffle was delicious.

What a fantastic layout! A great, challenging 18 holes. Rolling terrain, beautiful pines, and a good conditioned course. Greens were recovering from being punched. Pro shop great. Right when we pulled in a gentleman brought us carts to our vehicle. Driving range is top notch. Definitely add to places to golf when in the area.

Gorgeous course! Highly recommended. Worth the drive from Fort Mill, SC (about 45 min). And even though it’s a handful of miles, it’s a “zero traffic” kinda drive so it’s peaceful and enjoyable. The course, the club house, the range, and the overall experience were all 10 out of 10! I’ll be playing here plenty more in the future.

This golf course has stunning views! It’s definitely one of the best public courses in Charlotte area. The greens are very well maintained. The course is relatively easier with open fairways yet it has some challenging holes in back 9. I will come back to play for sure.

A hidden gem in the middle of nowhere South Carolina! Beautifully kept and wonderfully laid out, it's challenging and rewarding at the same time. The bent- grass greens are a nice change of pace (so many courses going to Bermuda varieties), but can be tricky to navigate. Worth the drive!

Great experience all around. Awesome clubhouse, delicious food, practice area and putting green deserve showing up early. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Really nice course layout and condition, especially being winter. Excited to see this place in-season.

I want to start by saying This review reflects the whole experience at the course and not the course itself. First I will start with the pros: Great conditon! Have played here a couple times recently. Nice layout as well! Greens were in good shape. Recent experience: We had a Tee Time at 410 PM. We arrived early around 340, checked in, and we were told a foursome had headed to the tee to play another 9 or 18 because there were no afternoon tee times. There were also two singles ahead of us, I am not sure of their tee times. Needless to say, hey no big deal, our tee time isn't actually until 4…
