Donegal Highlands Golf Course is appreciated for its friendly staff, challenging layout, and well-maintained greens, offering a pleasant golfing experience for many visitors. The course is noted for its scenic setting and good value, especially with its proximity to the PA Turnpike. However, some reviews highlight issues with course maintenance, including thin fairways, problematic bunkers, and inconsistent conditions, which may detract from the overall experience for some golfers.

Before my round on 6/5/25, the last time I played Donegal highlands was in 2022, and it was in very rough shape. This was the reason I had not been back in so long. The course is 2 miles off the PA turnpike, but you don’t see or hear the busy road at all. The round started with friendly service in the shop. A nice touch was a self serve ice chest to keep your drink cold on a hot and sticky day. Donegal Highlands is not a top track, but it is much improved from my last visit and worth playing. The greens did not have too much movement to them, but all rolled relatively well. The bunkers w…

Perfect course for a quick 9 on an 18 hole course right off the turnpike. Great for a 2 hour break from driving. Nice fairways and par 4s.

April 2026 The course is in HORRIBLE shape. There are more dandelions than blades of grass. Tee boxes are torn up, you can’t find a flat area to stand. The bunkers are indescribably bad. And the service in the pro shop was poor - borderline rude. There are so many other public courses in the area; your time and money is much better spent at those options.

Awful course conditions. Horrid greens that had so many patches of dead grass. Dried out mud patches on greens. Take some of that 48 bucks and buy some gas for the weed whackers. Every bunker was “under repair.” Literally hazards like holes and pipes in field of play. Oh, but nice rock formation around the three trees by the cart path as your walking to 16th green. Nice touch, looked great! Lol. Place is a joke.

Terrible, terrible, terrible. Crabgrass and clover! The greens are decent, but that is it. Crabgrass is so thick on the tees, you need long tees. Hard to find regular grass on the fairway and rough. Then it was cart path only when there were very few puddles on the course. The carts won't kill the crab grass on the fairway, so may as well drive on it. Senior rate is $42. Definitely not worth it!!!

Very fun course, the greens have been heavily improved from the last time I was here. There are a lot of ways to lose a ball out here, tall grass, water along the sides of some fairways, but it’s a great golf course!! Highly recommend to make your way out here.

Played the course other day. Was not expecting much since the course has been in limbo the last couple seasons. The fairways were thin due to lack of rain. The rough was the same. However, the greens and approaches were very good. The greens were really good. Nice speed and smooth. They are working on bunkers. If you have not played the course give it a try. There is not a bad hole on the course. A challenging course from the back tees. A very fair layout from the amateur, senior and ladies tees. The staff is friendly and helpful. Finally, a fair price for what you are getting.

I will say that the greens were some of the best I’ve played this year!! The course is in nice shape for all the warm weather we’ve had. Not crowded on a Wednesday so easy to make it around in 4 hours. The sand traps look like they’re doing away with them ( only real complaint ) Its a decent challenge for the average golfer⛳️

If you haven't played Donegal Highlands lately, you really do need to give it a try. The course is in good shape (like all local courses, it could use some rain), the greens are really nice (yes, even #4), and the new owners and staff are working hard to make improvements that enhance the beauty of an already well-designed track as well as being some of the nicest people we know. We have been playing here regularly for the last 5 years, and each year, we see great improvements in the course conditions. We highly recommend it and we'll see you on the course!

I locked my keys in my car, and could not have done it at a better course! The entire staff was rooting for me. They brought me all sorts of tools, water, and hung out with me in the parking lot until until I got it open. The golf course is solid, I'd say 7.5/10. Greens are in great shape and theres a nice variety of holes out there.

We are from Ohio and wanted to golf on Father's day while on vacation. Couldn't have found a better course. The course is in great shape and challenging. That's my kind of course. Plus Donna is amazing. Great customer service and brings a smile to your face. Will definitely come back here .
