My stay cation week of golf and diners in the four corners of Connecticut brought me to Putnam and Connecticut National. The course is in immaculate condition. It's like playing on a plush carpet. It had rained about 3 inches in the past few days, so there was some wet spots, but that is to be expected. Also, the rough is thick and leafy, so I lost a few balls I would likely have found any other time of the year. But, again, these are to be expected in mid-October. The course is laid out nicely and offers a challenge while not killing you in the process. The scenery was fantastic. You just…

Played mid March on a Wed afternoon. Temp was cool, not cold. Course was in amazing shape for opening day. Ground was damp but not soaked which was unusual for as much rain they had the week before. Greens rolled extremely good, smooth not bumpy. Enjoyed the layout even though I played it a little longer than I do normally. Loved the par 3's and 18 is a legitimately tough par 5 and great finishing hole. Will definately go back and play this course again.

Place is in great shape, but every time I’ve been here I’ve been rushed cause of a gap between holes. As we tee’d off ready to go to take our second shot, the Ranger came and complained that the guys ahead of us were already tee’d off on the next hole. Then on the following hole, he shows up staring us down while we putt to hurry up still, while the group ahead of us were on the next hole in the middle of the fairway. No one behind us was waiting to tee off, we hit the back 9 and were on hole 11 before the group behind us just pulled up to the 10th hole to tee off. For the rest of the playing…

Great course that is always in fantastic shape. Some very picturesque holes and one of my favorite courses in CT. Only knock is that it can be a pretty slow round, on the weekends you’re looking at close to 6 hours. Give it a shot.

Best golf course around for the price. $93 on the weekend with a cart is amazing. The course is in top notch shape and the staff are the best around. Downside is they have no clubhouse yet due to a fire at the end of last season. They have a huge tent set up to accommodate the people that hang around after their round to grab a beer and a bite to eat. I've been playing there for over 10 years now and just absolutely love playing there every Sunday morning. The course is set up for the club championship right now and pin placements are difficult and it was like putting on pavement but once y…

Played CT National for the first time. Course is in great shape. Very lush and green for not having any rain in a while. Nice layout and very scenic. Staff very friendly. I def will recommend to others to play this course.

Great golf experience overall, the staff went above and beyond with exceptional customer service. The course was in excellent condition with beautiful holes, and everything was well-maintained. We did run into a slightly slow pace of play, but overall a great place to golf!

Great Course. Conditions as good or better than a private course when I played. Greens were just wow, I couldn't get enough, putted 38x.🤣 Staff was fantastic as well. Great experience.

Great course, tough greens, layout is superb. Back 9 is the better of the two, but overall great experience 3 weeks ago. Everyone is nice and so inviting. Would def go back. I do wish they had logo golf balls for my collection though.

This is a challenging course, but the challenge doesn't really start till you get close to the green. There are places you don't want to be after a tee shot that can be avoided by hitting the right club or hitting it straight. But then you have to get it on the green. And let me tell you the greens here are almost comically hard. One looked like a VW Beatle was buried under the grass. If the green wasn't tilted, there were levels. Or swales, or false fronts, or some combination of those things. In a word they are challenging. Getting you ball on the green is only the start. That sounds bad ma…

Recently played a round and it was one of the best public courses I've played on. The fairways are well maintained as are the greens. The carts are solid and the course is generally in good shape. The greens fee with a cart is well worth it especially when they include range balls with your tee time. The views are better than you'd expect and the course is fun and challenging.
