In summary

Clearview Golf Club is highly praised for its rich history and the welcoming presence of owner Renee Powell, making it a bucket-list destination for many golfers. Visitors appreciate the challenging course layout and well-maintained greens, though some note that certain areas, such as the fairways and tee boxes, could benefit from improved maintenance. The club's historical significance and friendly staff contribute to a memorable experience, despite occasional criticisms regarding course conditions.

The HISTORY behind this course is the best reason to go and visit. To Play: The hills, the woods, and the water traps make it challenging and a mystery (where your ball landed) but very fun to play. I will definitely be back to try to beat my score and to see Renee Powell. Her dedication to her family legacy and customer service is admired and top notch.

Renee Powell and staff were very friendly and very accommodating making our outing a most pleasant experience. A new clubhouse with a museum was being built. I look forward to returning once it is completed. The course is well kept.

This Historic Golf course should be on any real golfers bucket list. And if you live within an hour and golf then you definitely should hit it as much as possible. The history of this place, the man who built it and the families legacy in golf was incredible. MS Powell walked up through the museum and even caught me on the back nine and gave me a few pointers. This is the only Black, designed and owned golf course in the world! And I saved that for last because like I said if you call yourself a golfer, black, white or whatever this should be like Mecca to you. The course itself... beautiful!…

A super nice course that is loaded with history! We golfed it as we were passing through town and are super glad we stopped!

It's winter time. So there is not much really to look at other than the beautiful vast openness of the ground's covered in snow. There is construction going on, which is how I ended up here. I've been told about this place for decades, but this is my first time being here. I'm sure I'll be back under different circumstances.

Just when you think you’ve played the worst course of your life, this one takes the cake by far. Do not waste your money. Mushrooms growing all over each green, no maintenance being done. Just Terrible!

First time playing this course today. Member of the 'Tee Time Golf Pass' booklet and have always wanted to try this course and it was a treat. Fairways and tee boxes are a little rough but the greens are 'impeccable.' The only other course whose greens are as wonderful as the ones we played on today are at Loyal Oak in Norton, Oh. Soft, well manicured and a little tricky if you're not paying attention. Kudos to the staff! Nice place to play if you want to have a relaxing game.

It's a great place to visit. Its historic value alone is worth the trip. While the course is being improved, meeting with LPGA Black golf professional Renee Powell (Owner) and hearing her story of the challenges she faced while playing the tour makes the trip a must-do bucket-list destination.

Renee Powell is nice and very gracious. If you are from Stark County or NE Ohio, you know and feel the legacy & history of this course the moment you pull in the long driveway. The overall course layout is great but maintenance is below par. If the first cut of the primary rough is better landscaped ( all of it is just mowed but is very high and way too thick) as well as most of the tee boxes (which could be cut better), this course would be 5 stars easy. Still a decent course and the history of it is great.

One of the most historically significant spots in all of Stark County. Important for golf and a whole lot more. Don't miss it!
