In summary

Chipeta Golf Course is appreciated for its friendly and helpful staff, making it a welcoming environment for golfers. The course, known for its relatively short layout with a mix of par 3s and 4s, is ideal for beginners and those looking for a casual round. However, some visitors have expressed concerns about the condition of the greens and fairways, as well as inconsistent driving range hours and occasional slow pace of play due to larger groups.

Driving range hours are very unreliable. They have no structure and close the shack at various times. I have been told 3 different times to get here by my last trips and ended up wasting a hour and a half driving just to turn around. Get here at least 2 hours before the range closes because they think it takes 2+ hours to hit a bucket of balls. This is a location that really makes me realize I’m in a small town because that type of service would run a company out of business in a normal sized city. This is the first time I have ever done a review, so they accomplished something there

Great little course and a lot of fun to play. The front 9 are pretty short, save for the 8th. Was perfect for playing with a 5 set of hickory clubs. Yes, there are dry and bare spots, but GJ is a high desert and there’s only so much water to go around no matter how much you see flowing down the Colorado River.

Pretty rough condition most of the time. Lots of beginners and slow golfers. Facilities are very dated.

Always a good time it’s a short course and just perfect with my disability to get out and enjoy what I love without overdoing it. 9 is perfect for me.

Absolutely beautiful course, staff is usually really nice. The gentleman working in the pro shop on Tuesday evening was a jerk for no reason. Almost asked his schedule to make sure we didn't catch him again. The rest of our evening there was great.

The staff are always helpful and courteous. Dick at the pro shop is always a pleasure to visit with and a great benefit to the pro shop.

I have always enjoyed chipeta but, my last round, we were put behind a golf class of 7 kids and a adult instructor which held up my groups play. No etiquette shown to let us play through. Had to leave the course after 4 holes, didn't finish because we had to go work by noon.

Course has potential. But the greens are terrible. They need to do a better job of taking care of them. There isn’t a single green that you’re not putting through patches. Luckily it’s not an expensive course. Bout the only thing worth it at the club.

It's a very enjoyable course. Even as an executive course it has some challenging holes but you still have the opportunity to play 18 holes in less time then traditional courses. My only complaint is that the prices they advertise on line are not what they charge at the course. Specifically, the website says weekend senior rates are $26 for 18 holes but they charge $28.

This could be a great course to practice on. The problem is the greens are in such bad shape they should be charging for a cart and allowing people to play for free. I’ve never seen a course with greens so poorly managed
