Carter Plantation

5 couples traveling from out of state booked a tee time for 2/12 was very easy getting 8 of us to play. The staff was very friendly and helpful. 8 play the course which was challenging and very nice. Enjoyed so much went back the next day.

We had both our wedding rehearsal dinner and reception here, and the entire experience was absolutely wonderful. The food was great and everything ran so smoothly. Lauren and her team did a PHENOMENAL job from start to finish. Lauren was incredibly accommodating, calm, and open to new ideas which made the planning process so much less stressful. This is especially impressive knowing how insanely busy she and her team is, not only with weddings but with other events like golf tournaments. She truly made us feel like a priority! Carter Plantation is a great golf course. Close enough to get to and far enough away to nit be on a packed course sending out 5-some after 5-some after 5-some (hello Santa Maria!!). Played 2 balls as a single and still finished in 3 1/2 hours. Nobody in front of me and nobody pushing. Course was in great shape for early season. Greens were in great shape and fast. Will be adding this to the rotation and likely using it to replace a different course that is home to the homer starter that sends off 5-somes (goodbye Santa Maria!!).

Disappointed. Driving range was a sandbox. Tee boxes were in terrible condition. Fairway grass was decent. Anywhere off fairway was bare. Greens were in very good shape. Side note: the pin placements were evil lol. I’ve played the course before and I’ve always really liked it but I won’t return until improvements are made.

This course is immaculate! Played May 3rd, 2026 and good god the greens, the fairways, driving range, practice area, etc. we're all in excellent condition. Pricey but worth it.

This course was recommended by the golf pro at TPC Louisiana and I must say it did not disappoint. Fun course but difficult on some holes. Kinda open. Med-Fast greens. Rough was rough, fairway was maintained well. (Also pretty hot when we played). Would definitely play here again.

Very well maintained course. Greens were very nice. Carts are very nice. We played on a Friday afternoon and were visited by the beverage cart at least 5-6 times. My only complaint was there was no Marshall to monitor the pace of play. We were a threesome and had to wait on the foursome in front of us on 17 out of 18 holes. It caused a 4.5 hour round for us. We don’t play exceptionally fast but a little push from a course marshal would have helped. Otherwise the course is fabulous.

Restaurant Review Only! The service was magnificent and the food very tasty. It was served in a reasonable amount of time where hot food was hot. The waitress checked in frequently but without being bothersome. The atmosphere is very nice and the prices are reasonable.

It's a bit to get to from Baton Rouge (45 minutes) but well worth it. The facility is near perfect and course conditions are professional grade. Fast and True greens with a bit of a challenge on every hole.

Love the Tuna Poke! The Cubano is very good also

I have played Carter Plantation on several occasions with VGA, and each time I've played, there were bits and pieces of the round that I found amazing and challenging. The staff were exceptional and genuinely sought to make our experience enjoyable. The greens were immaculate and true, with extraordinary speed. Fairways were in good shape without bare spots, but there were plenty of undulations for challenging ball placements and stances. Sand traps could use a manicure, according to my playing partners, I would not know since I avoided those hazards. I highly recommend this out-of-the-way jew…

We got married here in April and Lauren was amazing! From all the planning to the execution both before and day of it was all just fabulous. She is incredibly nice and sincere, and loves her job! I heard so many great things about her and the crew from my guests. She's also a lot of fun to work with! The resort itself is beautiful, very well maintained and clean. Lori who is in charge of the villas was also very nice and easy to work with. Villas were super helpful - everyone could be in the same place! Highly recommended!
