In summary

Briar Bay Golf Course receives praise for its friendly staff and recent improvements to the greens and tee boxes, making it a good option for both beginners and more advanced players. The course is noted for its affordable pricing and convenient location, with a layout that includes water hazards and bunkers for added challenge. However, some visitors have expressed concerns about inconsistent course maintenance, particularly regarding the condition of the greens and tee boxes, and issues with course management and scheduling.

First let me start by acknowledging the staff worker Mecca Ali who was super helpful, understanding and sweet as can be. She helped us book a tee time. Even though we had some complications and got there a few minutes late she was able to get us on the course right away. The course is lucky to have her as a staff member. Second, I know a lot of people say the course is in bad shape but let me tell you that they have redone the greens and tee boxes. We went on 2/21/26 so it’s gives you an idea of the time of season and the greens were excellent. Yes some of the course is a little dry at some sp…

I enjoy playing here. 9 hall golf course. Inexpensive, friendly employees and atmosphere. I recommend this place.

Solid conditions and intermediate-advanced layout with a good amount of bunkers and water throughout the course. Bright spot was helpful and friendly staff, 5/5 for all of them. It was pretty busy on a Saturday morning, so be prepared to wait as multiple people have same tee time booked, they can run short of carts.

Briar Bay Golf Course is where golf goes to die — and it dies ugly. The “greens” look like someone took a shovel, churned them into a dirt-and-grass smoothie, then dumped random sand piles on top just to make sure no putt ever rolls straight. You can’t tell where the fairway ends and the green begins because it’s all the same tragic wasteland. The tee boxes are nothing but soggy mud pits, and the whole place looks like it’s been maintained by blindfolded raccoons during a thunderstorm. Every shot comes with 50 bugs dive-bombing into your eyes like you owe them money. This isn’t just bad — it’s…

Greens aren’t playable and the tee boxes are all beat up. $33 for 9 holes is a bad deal considering you can a few bucks more for 18 somewhere else. Someone with experience needs to run this place.

5-star from me on this extremely NICE golf course not only to golfers but to the wildlife adorning the ponds. Kudos especially to the maintenance crew and office staff for kindness shown a very ill feral cat in distress in pouring rain, as 'we' (me, a neighbor behind the course) sought help from 311. Thank you for your kindness shown to me and this helpless animal not moving and especially the follow up call.

This 9 hole course has been recently renovated and it looks great. The greens are the courses challenges along with some water. There is not a driving range to warm up before a game but they do have a putting green. The staff is very polite, professional and friendly. It is an easy course to walk but they do have carts available to rent. Prices are very reasonable especially if you have the Miami Dade County Patron card and it is an easy location to get to.

Horrible course. Paid to play 9 holes and on the 4th hole got kicked off the course because they decided to close early. When asked why they said they weren’t sure. Online says 7:30pm, When asked where the hours were posted physically we were told “the hours are when my boss says to close”. Would never waste my money here again.

Basic course, I used nothing but irons the entire time. Greens were in good shape. The pro shop in on the back side of a restaurant. The parking lot is pretty crazy. No driving range and no cart girls/ beer in pro shop

WOW!! Everyone must give this course a second chance. I play twice a week for the convenience of its location and the 9 holes, and cause I'm a U-23 patron as well. And from Monday when I last played to this Friday morning, the course underwent a total makeover. The greens and tee boxes feel completely redone, almost entirely rid of divot holes and sand patches. The fairways and rough were completely mowed, so that it's all the exact same cut. On Monday I played and some fairways were the roughest I've seen, with what looked like a rabid mole attack...I guess it was part of the repair, because…

AVOID BRYAR BAY!!!!! I hadn't been there in the last 5 years, but I wanted to get a quick round in last week...I was beyond disappointed. The Tee Boxes are banged up and more like sand trap. Your golf ball needs an off-road vehicle to get across the greens. Very Sad...knowing that this was a gem back in the day and our go to place for a quick beautiful round. The City needs to put some attention and invest some time into getting this back. I would have given it no stars but I didn't have the option. Wake up!!! Make it right!!!

Unpretentious, inexpensive, friendly golf spot. Greens aren’t perfect but the space is diligently maintained by staff. The pro shop kiosk being 50ft from the 1st tee box gets folks out fast and pace of play was great for a Saturday morning when I played. 2000 yards but you can take driver on 2-3 holes. Could add more tiger tees on the par 3s but otherwise a good test of golf for the $$
