In summary

Vermilion Country Club offers a unique 12-hole golf course with an interesting layout and reasonably well-maintained greens, appreciated for its friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere. The club provides various amenities, including a bar and restaurant, though some visitors have experienced slow service and inconsistent food quality. While efforts are being made to improve the course and facilities, there are concerns about the overall upkeep, with some areas appearing run down and issues with navigation and cart paths.

I was in town for work and noticed this course was close to my hotel. The reviews looked promising, so I decided to try and get in a quick 9. However, after arriving, it became clear that most of the positive reviews are over two years old and don’t reflect the course’s current condition. The photos from previous reviews are not an accurate representation of what the course looks like now. There is no clubhouse or restaurant — just a concrete slab where it appears one might have stood, possibly due to a fire. Check-in is done through a shipping container with a deck. While the one employee I…

This is strictly a review of the golf course. This course was probably a premier golf course in its time considering it was founded in 1914. It is a 12 hole course and according to one of the regulars the 12th hole is a monster. It was reasonably well maintained with very decent greens. The cart paths are gravel but in better condition then Valley of the Eagles a Jack Nicholas course in Elyria. Every hole had its own challenges and the crab grass was easy to hit off of. We liked it and for $10 to walk - what a bargain. Never crowded.

This is a decent little course. Having only 12 holes is kind of weird and the rates went up last year but these greens will challenge you. They have a bar, a restaurant, a fire pit, a pool table and other activities that go on there. The place is well kept, just about any time there isn't snow on the ground and the parking lot is frequently full.

Really nice layout. Friendly staff trying to bring back the property after a fire. Will only improve with tlc.

I had to call and make sure this place was open, it's been a while since I've driven by. I called and got the weekend rates as I'm always looking for new challenge. I don't review places before I even go, but I felt compelled to after my interaction with the female the answered the phone. She was very pleasant, super friendly & knowledgeable about the place & definitely inviting. If I don't get out there today after work, because of her, I will definitely check it out for my next round of golf. Maybe even stay for a burger & drink. Second rounds on me 😉

Open to the public, great drinks and golfing. Friendly staff, family dining with dive bar feel. Cute doggie is always there to welcome you. Amazing place to enjoy dinner with the family or hangout with friends and close the place down. There is always some event going on. Check it out!

we just left the country club. We were there at 12:50 and there was NO customers. We placed a food order at 1:00 for a dozen wings and a blt with fries. We got our food at 1:45 I cant understand at all why it took 45 minutes to get our food when there was no one else there besides us. And for what we ordered. We had to wait forever as well to get drinks, took about 15 minutes to get 2 cans and a bottle of pop tje first round. Then when we ordered the second round it was another 15-20 minutes of waiting for someone to walk back out to the bar so we could order anything. Then had to continuously…

Do yourself a favor and go on Saturday for the prime rib special. You will not be disappointed. Or any day for the best pile of perch around. Don’t forget to bring your clubs for 12 challenging holes of public golf.

I had a bad experience. I was with a large group outside and unrecognized drinks were put on my tab to the tune of an extra $20. If you are outside and they are tracking your tab with pen and paper in a large group setting, I recommend you monitor your tab to avoid any uncomfortable situations when the group disperses.

I've had a lot of good times here! Not your typical country club! That's also the heart of it's charm. Nice and laid back. Great prices. Good food. Good peeps. Good times. I like the golf course, though I'm not a golfer.

Definitely more country than Club. You do not have to be a member or dress fancy to enjoy the bar and restaurant. This is the place to go to hang out with the locals and play some shuffleboard. They have a good selection of beer and you can always get a good cocktail. I like to go and get breakfast with a bloody mary on Sundays. Good place to go and watch sporting events and they have a prime rib special on Saturday which is worth every penny. Go on a night when Rob Webb is playing and you will enjoy yourself thoroughly. They also have other music acts that come through. It's also fun to go on…
