In summary

The Westlake Golf & Country Club is appreciated for its scenic and challenging layout, with well-maintained fairways and greens that offer a fun and engaging golfing experience. The staff is generally praised for their friendliness, and the clubhouse provides good food and drink options. However, some visitors have noted issues with course maintenance, particularly in the bunkers and greens, and have experienced inconsistent customer service.

This course was very nice! The clubhouse was clean and had good food and drink options. Greens rolled smooth but slow. The course overall was in good shape. Staff was friendly. Golf carts are fast and clean. Lots of wildlife!

I love this golf course. This is a stunning golf course on smith mountain lake. I played in December and March so I have not even seen it in season yet, but the fairways and greens were in great condition. It’s a challenging course with lots of unexpected turns and elevation changes that can challenge even the most seasoned players. I scored a few pars, but mostly struggled. I can’t wait to get back out there and get more acquainted with this course and break 90. Highly recommend!

A fun course! Relatively short yardage, so you don't feel obligated to pull out driver every teebox. Hole layout was hilly and fun. Greens were a bit long and slow, but easy to get used to and mostly in good shape. I look forward to coming back and trying to beat my score.

65 degrees and sunny… met my son at Copper Cove at 4:20 on Friday afternoon when he got out of high school. We were excited to hit some golf balls at the range. The door was locked at the clubhouse. I found an older gentleman sitting on a golf cart that worked there. He informed me that he stopped selling range balls an hour before closing and that he was closed. Pro of offering to help me: 2 happy customers and $30 for the owners. Con: he would have to get out of his golf cart and walk 20 yards to make that happen. This used to be my favorite course in the area due to its awesome layout and g…

This is my favorite course to play when visiting the area. Love the layout and elevation changes. Played recently and the course was in good condition and the new carts were really nice. It would be nice to see some improvements to the sand traps. Also some of the little things need some attention like on #8 the bulls eye in the tree is hard to see because of the tree growth and the bell is missing its string. Fun course to play just needs some care to the little things to make the best experience.

For the $$$ a great course. Scott (clubhouse) was first class. Nice practice area and overall the course was in good shape. Definitely enjoyed the back more than the front however all in all a great local course. Would play again and recommend to others

The fairways were in pristine condition, especially for the month of November. This course is gorgeous and is extremely well maintained.

I walked in the clubhouse wearing off white callaway golf shorts and a light blue solid pga golf tee shirt, similar to what many pga players now wear. My partner had long khaki pants with a little bit of paint on them and a long sleeve untucked shirt with the sleeves rolled up. So the guy says he is ok to play but I am not due to no shirt collar!! Take it as you want, but I will never be back here. Now I am sure they will respond and say it is their policy… but why? And they don’t post it anywhere… until you apparently get to the clubhouse and it is on the door. Darn, I should have brought a c…

Edit to the owner. If i would have know 3 days in advance I was playing i would have booked 3 days in advance. My brother and I play when we can and it's usually last minute. The same as for my 3rd guest. I booked Thursday because thats when plans were made. As to leaving why do I want to be called a problem and be berated in the clubhouse and still support yall? There is no issue to resolve because that team member will still be there the next time in the same crappy attitude. The resolution is to not support your establishment any further. The course is actually great. Now the older guy in…

This place used to be my favorite course in the area. Now it's a dump. Starting with the range, you have nothing but dirt to hit off of. Not one bunker on the course is maintained. The greens are like putting in shag carpet and half of them have disease. I don't think they ever mow. Most tee boxes are trash. And they want to charge 60$ !!!!! That's more than blue hills and Botetourt and both of them put this course to shame. I don't see it being open much longer. I know we won't be back again! Save your money and go play somewhere else! They've given up on this m once beautiful place!
