In summary

The Golf Center at SportsOhio is praised for its well-maintained facilities, including a large driving range, a fun par 3 course, and both indoor and outdoor practice areas with heated bays. Visitors appreciate the friendly staff and reasonable pricing, especially with available discounts. However, some patrons have noted issues with the availability of grass tees and the timing of range ball purchases, as well as occasional dissatisfaction with staff interactions.

This place is incredible!! Amazing rates, par 3 is is better shape than a lot of municipal courses in Columbus. Worth the drive from southside. Will definitely be coming back! Staff is friendly too

August 2023 Edit: first time back since my crabgrass experience described below. I am delighted to say that this time I didn't see any crabgrass in the grass tee area (one new photo)....and all of the balls were in very good shape. There is some room for improvement: large patches are sandy and slice-seeded...but I will no longer avoid this place like the plague. Original 2021 review: This place has really let itself go (3 old photos). The grass tees today were hands down, without a doubt, the worst grass turf I have ever experienced at a driving range. The available roped off section include…

Great spot, good practice, however the closing time posted does not accurately reflect when they stop allowing you to purchase range balls. Seems like it would be make more sense to close earlier rather than say you are open until 9 but 45 minutes before closing it’s somehow impossible to get range balls because the machines are “programmed to turn off at 8:15.” Which to me seems kind of silly if you are open for another 45 minutes. Otherwise great indoor/outdoor range and decent par 3 course.

Tom at the golf center is GREAT. Very helpful and friendly. The course and driving range are nice too. And the covered range is heated in the fall time if it gets chilly. We will be back. :)

Very nice practice facility. Driving range is huge . Balls are good. Par 3 course is fun. Greens are big with sand traps. $21 for small bucket and the par 3 course. Great value

Small but very well organized and neat. I'll come back over and over and over again.

Only range around so they take advantage by not prioritizing the grass tees. Tall older fella that works there is rude to say the least.

FYI they do not advertise that you can no longer get golf balls 45 min prior to closing time. I showed up at 6:20 on a Saturday and the guy told me he was physically un able to get me even a small bucket. Terrible service! Will be going to the range at Safari golf course moving forward.

Only been to the heated driving range. Love it. Grabbed a 150 ball bucket and worked on my swing.

Mats are good. Has covered area with heaters. Balls are in reasonable shape. Plenty of distance markers. They close the grass tees a little early in my opinion.

We didn’t even set foot on grass before some balding guy met us with this very nasty attitude. He sits inside with binoculars waiting for his chance to get in a confrontation. Apparently the “closed grass tees” sign also means practice greens are closed even if it isn’t stated. Our explanation for this was “because”. I’ve been here plenty of times and he’s the only employee I’ve seen behave this way. Pretty sad. Luckily there are other nice ranges in the area with better prices. If you want a 9 hole par3/4 course go to Wilson road cause you get more golf and it’s cheaper. Not to mention the fr…
